Ok, I finally got a chance to play a fleet ambush game. A question that arose was that while the card says that odd number deployments have to be in the ambush zone for the first player, it doesn't say that the even number deployments cannot be deployed in the ambush area. So the question is: Can even numbered deployments also be deployed in the ambush zone? Or did I miss something and the even numbers have to be deployed in the deployment zone?

I don't think it works because I believe that even deployment still falls under normal rules and remains unchanged.

But this is not actually stated anywhere so maybe not... Great question:)

All rules regarding deployment from the base rules are in effect unless a card states otherwise. Since the card doesn't state otherwise for even number deployments, standard rules apply to them, so no deploying outside the normal deployment zone.
