Who needs Bwings with Accuracy corrector when you can have:

By barriecritzer, in X-Wing

To be fair, Wave 7's tracer missiles might help turn that on its head too...

but that also depends on what ship can carry both system and missiles. Right now only the TIE Punisher can, also it depends on who the defender is. The tracer missile has an effect that needs to hit first. You probably be better off with Blount as he always trigger hit missile effects.

TIE Advanced can, in fact, shoot missiles.

The need to hit is a valid concern, but I can see flying 3-4 TIE Advanceds with ATC + Tracer Missiles being able to lay some severe hurt on the right targets.

I'd limit it to 3 so I can have some heavy-hitting ace shooting first, token-stripping to help those shots land, personally. Once the X-wing is buffed, perhaps Wes flying with Zs could do a similar stunt...

Just as a data point, I've played with and against this Accuracy corrected Advanced list core twice, and I really wasn't impressed. Like at all. Advanced targeting computer on the other hand was flipping bonkers.

ATC is awesome on named pilots but on generics because they move first won't always get a shot on what they TL, AC let's you shoot anything that strays in front of your crosshair guaranteeing two booms no matter what action you take.

The correct answer to the thread is "just bwings" :P

The tie advance being 2 dice means it gets SO much more from AC.

The list should do swimmingly with Vader shoring up versus high agility

It isn't that the Advanced has only 2 dice that nets it better synergy.

It's that, once you remove the Action Economy from your damage output, the TIE Advanced still has useful actions, whereas the B-Wing.... has a Barrel-Roll. Which the Advanced also has.

1 agility ships don't like this upgrade.

Now, if you wanted to throw Jan Ors into the equation, then we're talking.

It's also the 2 dice

If your damage can normally match and possibly exceed 2 hit results, why waste points?

AC is alright on B-wings but not great. B-wings has a firepower 3 and AC guarantees a full 2 hits where a B-wing could get 3. Also likely to get 2 hits and a crit or even a hit crit fairly accurate. It is actually one of those cards like C-3PO that works better on lower stat number than higher because it is a statistical deviation remover. C-3PO removes variance by saying if you don't roll an evade and you bet 0 on C-3PO you get an evade result. If you did roll an evade you got an evade result anyways.

That being said Accuracy corrector is better on 2 Firepower ships and it would be OP if the HWK could take it or another 1 firepower ship that comes out with a sensor slot. As for 3 firepower ships you would want something that adds more damage like advance targeting computer however that 1 cough* 5 point upgrade is TIE advanced only.

Accuracy Corrector on a B-wing frees up your action for Barrel Roll and allows you greater flexibility to really use your dial, since you're always guaranteed at least 2 hits, and if you happen to roll better, well that's just a bonus. You don't have to worry about attacking with no TL or Focus and blanking out if you opted to go for better positioning. Whether that trade-off is worth it or not? Well, we had a 4 Blue+AC list make top 4 at our Regionals, and someone took it to at least top 16 at Nationals a couple weeks ago, so it definitely has potential as one of the many 4 B variants.

You are correct. My son won a store championship this year with it when I came up with the list initially. Made it for him Friday night and he ran it on Saturday and won the tournament. It has also won a regional. http://lists.starwarsclubhouse.com/get_tourney_details?tourney_id=482

When I came up with the list I told my son to fly aggressively and not worry about red maneuvers since he didn't need TL anyway. 2 out of 3 hits is better than average which is 50%. He used AC somewhere around 22 times during the day IIRC and it won him the tournament. This being a dice game makes this better than most folks think. The morning of the SC that my son won, lots of folks were very surprised with the list and said it wasn't as good as other lists with B's. The high placings with this list seem to indicate otherwise contrary to what folks are saying in this thread. AC is a great upgrade on any ship that can take it. Lets you save your tokens for defence and you never have a bad dice day.
