Hey everyone! Here's a new Double Vic list I thought up and plan on testing soon!

name of the game is slow roll, keep the little guys close to mother, pounce on uppity Nebs and stuff( I like your choice of Mauler), keeping both Vics reasonably close to each other, for mutual support and massed guns, EA should help if you stagger Vics abit. Now I've only played a couple matches with this list and have had pretty good success with it . The choice of objectives seems sound. I'm gonna give it a few more cracks, in one match I was slaughtered by 3 nebs with 3 corvettes...Egad!...bastards swarmed me...Blam...Crunch...sizzle...need more practice I think... :)

Good Hunting Darkblade! its a fun and challenging list being only 2 ships with very little fighters.

I like your list. I tried a similar, but not as well thought out list last week. Essentially, my second VIC did not have the squadron support yours does. I think I may borrow yours to some degree, as I want to make a double VIC work.

I was picked apart by a mass of corvettes. I just got out activated and death by a thousand cuts later......

I feel like if you are going Double VIC, you need too dictate how initiative plays out. I don't have a recommendation......yet.

I actually don't like 2 VSD-IIs, they leave you incredibly weak on the squadron game and aren't that impressive for the points you pay (12!) without some kind of upgrade (enter Dominator, holy **** that thing smarts)

I find the rhymer ball essential for supplementing the VSD's horrible maneuverability, and motti on a VSD-1 w/hangars + FC does that just fine (just use Advance instead of other bombers, in case you run into enemy squadrons)

Are you saying that 2 VSD-Is would be better, mainly due to the Squadron stat?

I am trying to make 2 VSDs work, but been struggling of late. Getting back to work on this.

The 2 VSD list I currently run focuses on anti-ship firepower, which is where the VSD shines, with some Interceptors to hold up/wipe out enemy fighters. It's designed to be a one-two punch with the non-flag tearing shields on a facing down with the XI7's, followed by a huge Dominator hit from the flag to mop the target up. It runs 293 points as a decent underbid to take 2nd and force an encounter on my terms (which are exactly the same as the OPs!).

I just had some fun trying to get a mass fighters list on an Imperial setup. It did well... Granted it was just a single self played match. And honestly it was mostly objective points. But I liked it.
