I like this card a lot. It's thematic. It's specific. It's going to make ace + 1 lists a lot less happy than they currently are.

But it feels like I really want a ship with crew and a decent number of both red and green dice. I guess a phantom works, but it feels like a smaller bump in effectiveness than other crew in this case.

Does anyone anticipate running this guy competitively? Where would you put him?

There are only two really viable options - Decimator and Phantom. Kallus is not enough of an upgrade to make the imperial Firespray competitive and the Lambda will not be able to make enough use of his bonuses in either offense or defense to make him worth his points cost and crew slot.

Yep. They have the stats to benefit for sure. I would put him on scum Boba in a heartbeat.

I really wish the Imp Firespray could be revamped. I know its a short sighted design mostly, in not just saving it for scum, but currently, there are absolutely 0 pilots that you want to use competitively.

3 BH while done, isn't particularly that powerful.

Kath doesn't get enough out of her ability.

Boba, lets be honest, incinerations are more fun. He doesn't have enough actions to take advantage of his mobility. And costs too much.

Even scum firesprays though, are being relegated to after IGs in competitive use. Theyre not tanky enough, not firepower enough. Tough to use. No turret.

Emperor/Kallus/Predator Kenkirk should be pretty monstrous.

I don't know. I think he'll be great on a Firespray. Kath or Boba with Lone Wolf and Kallus is 42 or 43 points, respectively, get amazing action economy in attack and defense, and don't really need any other upgrades. Additionally, if you do go up against a many-ship build, the 2 AGI (with potential re-rolls) of the Spray will serve better than the 0 of the Decimator. 58 points is a decent chunk of the remaining squad, even if you do put some more upgrade points into the Firespray.

I was thinking Kenkirk too. I feel like LW, Ysanne, Kallus is auto-include. What do people think about Gunner vs RebCap though?

Emperor/Kallus/Predator Kenkirk should be pretty monstrous.

I'd rather stick to Ysanne over Kallus. Palpatine already gives a dice mod, and Kallus only works on one ship.

Also, Kenkirk really wants Determination. With the Decimator's agility, every pilot crit is terrible on him, including the 4/33 chance of having his agility dropped back to 0 between Structural Damage and Injured Pilot.

I haven't watched much Rebels, so it might be pretty thematic. However, based on his ability, it DOES seem awfully Bounty Hunter-ish to me...

What about this silly idea:

Sigma (25), Kallus (2), FCS (2), Stygium Particle Accelerator (2) = 31 points

Combat Phantom

Sigma has great jousting efficiency already. You just focus on that aspect, calling the cloak a nice positioning side bonus. A better move might be Sensor Jammer for 33 total points. Between that and the decloak Focus from Stygium, you're a pretty unappealing target first turn That makes your targets spend Focus to hurt you, opening them up to the Sigma and the other 67 points of your squad. It's basically an assassin that punishes the opposing squad for shooting at it. You either get your bucket of red dice, or you seriously degrade the opposing squad's defenses. Not bad for a third of a list.

Uh, what? Imperial Boba Fett is a little lackluster, but Kath and Krassis both have perfectly valid builds and the Bounty Hunter is pretty cheap for what you get. I really like Bounty Hunter + Kallus as a seed for a build.

I imagine that point is to my list, which wasnt quoted above, but i get that, however vader being the trisky little minks he is can stick to it (at least within range 2) allowing a GUARENTEED first shot and immediate cloak at 11 (unless roark or Mux)
