Looking for suggestions with what i currently own.

Hello everyone, im having a blast playing this game and we are doing our best to start a community over here, lots of people getting interested.

Ive been experimenting different builds with what little i own since our shop is a little limited on the merchandise they offer.

Ive come here today to find new ideas for new squadron combinations i can try with what i own. Here is a list of my current collection shared between me and my friends:

2X starter kits

2X imperial aces

1X rebel aces

1X slave 1

1X millenium falcon

1X tie fighter expansion

1X y wing expansion

1X tie advanced expansion

What are some rebel and imperial builds you guys can come up with using these sets and what sets you can recommend getting so i can tell my shop owner to order them for us. Thank you alot in advance!

Advice first:
Originals of all of the Aces you've got. Although the Aces provide more ace pilots, quite often the most potent are from the original set with Aces' upgrades. Tycho Celchu, Soontir Fel, and Turr Phennir, for instance.

As for good lists

"Han Shoots First" is an older list, but one for which you have all the upgrades for. It eventually evolved into "Fat Han" with the release of the Transport and Corran Horn. It concentrated on having exceptionally consistent damage, thanks to the Solo/Gunner interaction, and the moderate difficulty-of-kill of the Falcon itself.

Han Solo

+ Gunner

+ Engine Upgrades or Chewbacca crew

+ 3 points spent as desired (variation is here)

2x Rookie Pilots

Also, the following list was one of the first for me and will do a lot for your formation-flying skills:

This against the Han Shoots First list will make for an excellent, thematic game that will build skill and familiarity with important components for tournament play. But maybe I'm biased because my buddy and I flew exactly these two lists A LOT when we were first starting out!

Look into a Y-wing if you're thinking of making a Rebel list. While it doesn't seem amazing, a Y-wing with an Ion turret and an R2 droid sometimes lets the rest of your list slaughter the big bads.

It's an add-on choice, but a good one.

The TIE Advanced, without the Raider, is frankly unplayable.

It's an A-Wing with +1 health, that pays 4 points and a worse dial for the privilege.

The same A-Wing that was unplayable until the Chardaan Refit was introduced, remember.

Try this one out, though.

Krassis Trellix

2x Royal Guard

+ Push the Limit

+ Hull Upgrade

That's 99 points.

Ill definatly give that a try. I havent tried Krassis Trellix yet, i had been using Kath Scarlet with ion cannon and gunner. But i like the idea of Krassis ability with HLC.

Im still really new to the game so dont really know about the A-Wing. The reason why i was thinking tie advance was mostly because of Vaders ability and the ship seemed to have ok stats.

Vader's ability is great!

The ship is fairly difficult to kill as well... its just that it has almost no offense.

None of this is competitive in a tournament setting, but for community building you may find it easy to pull people in:

Yea i noticed that aswell and was thinking it would be difficult to take down enemy ships. Seems more like a nuisance than a threat to my opponent.

I was checking out the topic about nationals and regionals and i noticed that none of these expansions we have are competitive. We are still learning the game and trying to get others involved, it has been really fun and i do want to become competitive. The next expansion i get will definitely be the tie interceptor and the starviper just for the autothrusters

Get a Scum and Villainy pack as well, it'll let you dip into that faction with conversion kits for the Y-Wing and Slave 1 you already have.

Im planning on playing both imperial and scum so will do. From what i have seen so far, the decimator and ig2000 are two ships i should look into aswell. Ill check out the wikia right now
