Feedback Array and Blinded Pilot

By pedersen, in X-Wing Rules Questions

Hi,

I was looking through the other threads about the Feedback Array and I could not find an answer, so here is my question:

Tonight I was playing and the battle came down to my 2-hull-point IG-2000 with Feedback Array and the Blinded Pilot faceup damage card with a 1-hull-point remaining Tie Interceptor behind me at Range 1. Could I have used the Feedback Array to destroy him and win the game even with the Blinded Pilot card? (We decided no and he shot away my two remaining hull points on his turn.) And I guess, as a similar question, would the same ruling apply to Vader as a crew member when his ship is blinded?

Thanks for the clarification.

Blinded pilot is roll zero attack dice on your next attack, yes?

And feedback array is do direct damage instead of attacking?

That should work. With blinded pilot you still make an attack, you just roll zero dice. Since you are going to make an attack you can choose not to and use FbA. Blinded pilot would not flip down however.

Should work for vader crew as well. Vader triggers on making an attack, not on the attack being in any way effective.

As an additional note, just because you are rolling zero dice does not mean things that effect an attack don't work. Accuracy corrector can cancel all zero dice and add 2 boom results, ATC can add a kaboom result, tactician can stress and so on.

The FAQ for Blinded Pilot states that you may use abilities that trigger upon attacking, such as Vader, Luke or Gunner.

So replacing your attack should be legal as well.

From the FAQ. Page 12.

Feedback Array
Feedback Array is resolved during the Combat phase
in normal pilot skill order (using initiative to break
ties) instead of resolving combat steps 1–7 (see core
rules page 10). If a ship equipped with Feedback Array
destroys an enemy ship of equal pilot skill that has not
attacked yet, that ship may still perform an attack (or
use Feedback Array) before it is removed, following the
simultaneous attack rule (see core rules page 16).
Using Feedback Array does not count as an attack, and
can be used against ships you are touching, while you
are overlapping an asteroid, and while you have the
Blinded Pilot Damage card assigned to your ship.

Besides, you already don't roll dice for Feedback Array, so even if it were an attack (Which it isn't), activating it would play out as normal.

Yes. It should be remembered that you still attack when you have blinded pilot. You could then activate Accuracy Corrector, add a {KABOOM} with Advanced Targeting Computer, automatically miss and activate Gunner/IG-88B, perform an attack that Hits with Blount (including dealing a face up damage card with Advanced Homing Missiles, Ion and Damage with Ion Pulse Missiles, deal 1 damage to everything at range 1 of the target with Assault missiles, strip a Stealth Device), use Vader Crew to cause the target to suffer 1 {KABOOM}.

It should be remembered that you still attack when you have blinded pilot.

And the defender has to roll his green dice. That is not optional. Even if the attacker has nothing because of zero attack dice.

make em waste the good green dice

Have Keyan get rid of stress works as well.

Interesting. It's good to know that there are counters to that card. I didn't realize just how many ways around it there are. Thanks for the assistance!

but if i cannot do a attack because a havent a target inside my firing arc? can i use feedback array whathever?
