Die hard rebel players?

By SirEmilCrane, in X-Wing

I wouldn't say "die hard" but I'm mainly a Rebel player. I play all factions casually, but competitively mostly Rebels (6 times out of 8 tournaments total). The players in my area are diversified, with only one playing a single faction (S&V). I really like trying new builds in general and, of course, having actually played Imperial and S&V ships help a lot when I'm facing them as Rebels.

I'm the only imp player my so called friends play Isis and mafia factions.

I don't think anyone on the forums knows you're an Imperial only player, no one, not one person, because you hide it so well in your posts. :P

I ran rebels almost exclusively until S&V arrived. I own all factions and ships but the play style of rebels and now S&V fits my mindset better. Sadly I have done better in large tournaments with S&V (I blame this on Fett) than I ever did with my rebels.

I own all three factions and have regaled these forums with many a tale of daring do and crushing defeat with all of them.

But in D&D terms i'm lawful good so always come back to the empire, the home of true justice!

I have all 3 factions. I would say look wise I like Empire most. Play wise and uniqueness, I like Scum most. However, I love the X-Wing and Rebels. I want to like them SO BADLY, but I can't fully commit to them until I can run X-Wings without feeling like I'm starting at even a slight disadvantage, not to mention the most you can fly are 4 :/ I also hate the idea of a turret in every list. I recently tried a title-less cannon 2400 and may give it another chance in hope it sticks for me.

Plus the major let down about Rebels is I have to buy a CR-90 to play with most of the goodies. I hate having to buy a model I don't want at all just to get stuff for the part of the game I like. I refuse to do it, actually.

At our store, one person is strictly Imp, 2 are strictly Scum (one guy flys Fett every game) and another will be when he gets more ships. My last opponent has been flying A-Wings quite a bit and that's my next thing to do to try to get into Rebels more.

If I didn't have so much of each faction, I would probably be more inclined to lean heavily one way, but Rebels in their current state make it hard for me get excited. I'm not saying they're bad, but they don't fit what I like to fly as well as the other factions, and the other factions goodies just seem more fun to me.

However, if there's an Episode 7 X-Wing fix, as I hope, I'm ALL IN. X-Wings every game. Scojo love X-Wings

I run exclusively rebels at tournaments. Others have mentioned the durability and that is the big draw for me on them as well. Greater chance I can set up a play the way I practiced it or leaves you a small buffer if that all goes down the drain.

I have enough where I can field almost any build in any faction. My personal preference is Empire, followed by Scum and Rebels lastly. I prefer the look of Imp ships and of course the speed.Having Vader and the Emperor on your side doesn't hurt either.

I'm exclusive scum and villainy, but I'll take bribes from the alliance any day.

I'm no fanatic, no emperor ever is going to get me to protect a Death Star.

I've got all three, but it's hard for me not to play Imperials. TIE Fighter was a formative experience for me, and reliving some of that is one of the many reasons I like this game so much. When I do play Rebels, I'm drawn heavily to the fighters. I tend only to be interested in ships that I have some previous connection to. So some of the stronger Rebel stuff like the YT2400 is pretty low on the list of stuff I want to put in a list. That means stuff from the movies, from TIE Fighter, and a few other random games get priority for me when I'm list building.

There are a good number of Rebel-only or Rebel-mostly players out there. But I also have noticed Imperial fanaticism far more than anything else (Rebels as terrorists is totally a thing). Now that I think of it, I haven't seen fanaticism about Rebels or Scum (although Scum are still relatively new, and Boba Fett is his own niche).

(And while I'm largely faction-neutral, TIE Fighter was in fact the best game ever)

I think this may be it. The Imperial fans are just the most vocal about it. I personally would consider myself a rebel player, even though I do play Imps as well, and scum very occasionally

Also personally I think KOTOR is the best star wars game, but I'm too young for TIE fighter really

I think you'll find that you mean KotOR2. Even broken it's the best Star Wars game.

It was more the devs weren't given enough time and were told to ship it as is, I still enjoyed it but those doors I can't open haunt me to this day...

It has been a long while since I flew an imperial build...

It's the faction I've played the least I think, but I usually do quite well with it. "Beginner's" luck still maybe.

Awesome name (and signature) by the way! :-)

I'm strictly a Rebel player, mainly because I a huge fan of the Millennium Falcon. Though for Armada, I strictly play Imperial. I

You do realize that the Empire in Star Wars is a textbook example of Lawful Evil rather then Lawful Good right?

Shhhhh. Ignorance is bliss

I consider myself a die hard rebel fan. I dabble in imperial sometimes, but only to just get the feel for it, and even then, it's usually a TIE swarm.
