Killed by Squadrons

By Edsel62, in Star Wars: Armada

That all comes down to how well the carrier group is flown. Sure you can attempt to faceplant into my caps for the table but I'm going to make that process take as long as possible, which is good for squadrons. Especially in a scenario like superior positions where I get to react to your deployment and force you into an uncomfortable situation. Do you spread out to try and evenly cover approaches (I get to deny flank and take you on a ship or two at a time) or do you group up and stick together (I get to block fire lanes and set up positional scenarios that put you in a no win).

In essence my point was, you can't consider the worth of anything in this game based on one factor (in this case DPT). In a game with two equally skilled and experienced players you can't lean on one factor (DPT) to win you the game. There are a lot of moving parts in Armada and they all have to be considered.

Which is basically a long winded way of saying in the context of DPT squadrons are bad but in the context of the game as a whole squadrons are very viable.
