Some newbie questions

By Marwin86, in Star Wars: Imperial Assault

Hi guys im having some confusion during my campaign play with a friend, so i'll go straight to the questions:

1. Can a door be frag grenad-ed?

2. When you have two free open groups during a mission, can you choose an elite , non unique open group? If the mission doesnt say any restrictions, open groups are available from scum and imperial groups?

3. Can you sell your class item cards? What happens when you dont have a weapon in game?

4. When you use the "command" character ability, do you need to have LOS to the friendly figure?

5. Using strain for assitional movement points can be done twice peractivation, is this means we can only gain a maximum of 2 movement pts or we can spend strains twice?

6. The imperial class says while an imperial figure is attacking, you can change one of the attCking dice to another dice, is this means ALL imperial figures as it is? Why is this upgrade is too good?

Thanks guys! It will help alot!!

Whenever you have a question it is a good idea to check the "Rules Reference guide", often referred to as the RRG.

1. Yes a door can be fragged.

2. Open groups can be any non unique character, or unique character that has been earned up to the amount that comes with the game, unless mission rules state otherwise. Yes they can be imperial and scum.

3. No, class cards can not be sold. But other item cards can be for half of their credits.

4. You do not need line of site, but you do need to count spaces. I.e how many movement points would it take if you were moving a character.

5. 1 strain equals 1 movement point. You can do this twice per activation and does not count as an action.

6. It's a good card because it is a 4xp card.

actually the class cards that are items can be sold

Item cards and class cards are not the same. Item cards can be sold. Class cards can not. Page 21 rebel upgrade stage right column last part of "to purchase class cards" "-Once purchased, he retains the cards for the remainder of the campaign."

Edit: on PG 15 there is a bullet that states some class cards and reward cards are also item cards. I would say that this is grey area because of the stick with you through the campaign thing, but I'll admit that I am now leaning towards they can be sold.

I've always played as if they can be sold for 50 credits.

ok so
under class cards; their is no restriction on them being sold, FAQ class cards can't be traded to other heroes
under items; items can be sold
under rebel upgrade; items with out a credit cost can be sold for 50 credits
under reward cards; reward cards can not be sold or given to other heroes
the only items with out a credit cost are the starting items in the class decks, reward cards and supply cards
(supply cards are returned to the supply deck at the end of each mission before the rebel upgrade stage so can not be sold)
class cards that are items can be sold for 50 credits

A: No.

Rebel Upgrade Stage
During a campaign, heroes can purchase new cards during each Rebel Upgrade Stage.
They can first spend experience points to purchase new Class cards and can then spend credits to purchase new Item cards.
• To purchase Class cards, each Rebel player looks at all cards in his Class deck and can purchase any number of those cards of his choice.
-- In order to purchase a Class card, the hero must spend a number of XP equal to the card’s cost.
-- Once purchased, he retains the cards for the remainder of the campaign.
• To purchase Item cards, Rebel players shuffle the Item deck listed on the campaign log. Then they draw six cards from this deck and may purchase any number of those cards of their choice.
Then they shuffle any unpurchased cards back into the deck.
-- If more than one Item deck is listed on the campaign log, players shuffle and draw six cards from each deck.
-- In order to purchase an Item card, the Rebel players must spend a number of credits equal to the card’s cost.
-- After purchasing an Item card, Rebel players give the Item card to the hero of their choice.
-- Immediately before purchasing Item cards, heroes can sell any of the Item cards they already own.
Each sold card is returned to the game box.
Then the heroes receive an amount of credits equal to half the card’s cost rounded up to the nearest 25.
-- Item cards without a credit cost can be sold for the heroes to receive 50 credits.
