about challenges

Hi there, sry for my newbie question...but i don't undestand well the challenge phase:

1 - Can I declare no defenders even if there are still some characters who are able to defend that challenge?

if I declare no defenders the challenge is unopposed and the attacker claims 1 bonus power. Has the attcker also the possibility to claim all the "claim effects" that occurs in winning the challenge?

exp . "if I win a military challege unopposed becouse the defender claims no defending characters (he has got only one chatacter in play and he decides to not defend ) , i claim 1 bonus power and the defender has immidiatly to kill the only one character he has got. I can also initiates the other 2 challenghes and claims again 2 bonus power plus all the other effects of winning power and intrigue challenges.( steal bonus power from his house card...etc etc) " Is that right?

Tnx for your time ;) ...

Yes, that's right. You can choose either to defend a challenge or not. Claim effects apply when you win the challenge as the attacker, it doesn't matter if it's been unopposed or not.

In this scenario your opponent will probably defend with the only character he has left. That's because he will have to kill it anyway so, at least, you will not claim an additional power for the challenge being unopposed.
