Same as the K wing, but the 45 degree 2 banks are red and a full stop red..

[old] Odanan's custom cards
Made this ship large because of the size of the Mel's miniature. Because of the size (3x longer than the Lambda), it should be an one-section huge ship instead.
Okay, I had to check and I see your point.
And I think you just found one of the two Scum epic ships.
This is excellent, but I would remove the team upgrade and 1 crew upgrade.

There are plenty of old ships in the game. YT-1300 .
Check out the eras of Sienar Technologies .
The reason I highlighted Bounty Hunter s is because they also have been around for a long time.
This is excellent, but I would remove the team upgrade and 1 crew upgrade.
I looked at other single card Epic ships before I chose slots.
The GR-75 has two crew.
The Gozanti has two crew and one team.

Yes, but this ship is different. This is not a regular huge ship: it's a compact combat capital ship, meant to carry guns and guns alone.

"The D5-Mantis Patrol Craft was created as the bounty hunter's class starship for the LucasArts video game Star Wars: The Old Republic."
There are plenty of control panels in this layout to justify some crew.
So you're saying it should be more like the CR90 Corvette or the Raider Corvette?
Edited by gabe69velasquezThe Mantis would be about 3000 years old, if it was in the Old Republic game. ...it should be an outdated pile of debris.
Or I might have gotten the game mixed up with another Old Republic game that is set 3000 years before the Empire comes to power.
In this image the ships are scaled and not the bases.
Except that the Raider base wasn't changed and that's the one I copied.
I don't know why I thought Sienar Technologies was the builder,
but in this case Kuat Drive Yards has just as long a history.
(Old Republic era... to.. Legacy era)
I won't dispute that both the company and ship are old,
but tell me the date when they stopped manufacturing them.
I'm not insisting that it belongs, just playing devil's advocate.
*No, it doesn't deserve the broadside arcs, as I said, I copied the Raider base.
Looks more in line with a Gozanti.

So you're saying it should be more like the CR90 Corvette or the Raider Corvette?
I believe it should be the less utilitarian huge ship of all. Built for combat and combat only. Front arc, maybe rear arc (has some guns pointed backward) and a turret.
And yes, it might be too old for X-Wing Miniatures.

I must have missed something,
why did you make this card?
is it not for the game?
That layout doesn't say combat and combat only.
It reminds me of the interior shots of the VT49 Decimator. (see this thread)
What specific upgrades do you think a huge versions should have then?

I was asked by Lazyshisno to make a card for his miniature. Although the ship is clearly huge (size of the Rebel Transport), the Mel's Miniature is of the size of the Decimator (so, a "large" ship, instead of huge).
For upgrade, the 2 hardpoints, cannon and 1 or 2 crew. About cargo, I don't know... it would be interesting to make it more combat-oriented, instead of transport. But hey, I'm not exactly familiar with huge ships.

From the look of this interior I would be tempted to go up from one team slot to two team slots,
not down, but I know the formula for crew is two for one, so I would leave a team slot for a Gunnery Team .
At first glance I think two crew at least because of all the stations, but I know one source says there are five crew possible, two of them optional, so take a couple away for a team slot and you are left with right about one crew slot.
The official SWTOR site refers to it as a long-range picket ship , so it can't be all and only combat.
Because of this mention I'm not going to remove the Jam action as I was leaning towards.
So the lasers are two on the extensions, and the chin cannon, according to the star wars wikia. But the SWTOR site refers to them as blasters. I'm guessing that because they are so much smaller that the laser cannons then are on the shoulders. And the rear gun I don't know but it appears to be one left side only.
There is mention of a concussion missile launcher in a couple of places.
So given all of this I would go with something like
3 hardpoints, 2 cannons, 2 missiles, 2 crew, 1 team.
Which is 10 slots, and I am prepared to put 10 slots on one card.
What is your preference?

Gabe, I think you have used good reasoning and I have never played EPIC ships.. so I have faith in your judgement :-)
Thanks for helping with the project.

Well, the CR90 has hundreds of passengers and only got 2 crew and 3 teams in the card. The D5-Mantis has a crew of 3 and 2+ passengers. See what I'm trying to say?
Edited by OdananRemember a team isn't one or two guys at a console, it's a lot of people with just one goal.

Appreciate the vote of confidence, but is there really any point in making you an Epic version if you don't own any epic ships? Do you have access to energy tokens and a range 5 ruler? If you have Mel Miniature's version of the miniature then it's just one base, or are you going to try to mount it on two bases with a two base arc line card?
It doesn't have to be exactly like the smaller epic ship's double base though, as long as you have 9/16th of an inch between bases for the epic maneuver template.
Edited by gabe69velasquezI have the gozanti and the GR-75, but I have so far only used them for HOTAC. I am not opposed to using the Mantis as an Epic ship, its just that the Mels miniatures ship that I own is more in line with being a Large ship (about the size of the firespray). If it were going to be made an Epic ship then an Epic model would also have to be made. Thats why I though it would just be easier to make a Large ship pilot card.

Well, the passengers/cargo for the CR90 depends on the configuration, but I know what you are saying. I'm looking at things like the Shuttle and the Decimator that have 2 and 3 crew but are smaller than the Mantis (Currently working on another orthographic).
The interior of the Mantis is much bigger than the interior of either the Lambda or Decimator.
There isn't any question that Jabba the Hutt at two crew slots should be able to fit in it.

Do you have a printer and some thicker density paper?
I would try to see if I could fit the miniature between two bases.
If you don't mind taping all three together like this...
What era is your campaign set in, and what do you expect to bring against this ship?
Edited by gabe69velasquezYou tell me, does this look odd?
I have three names for titles. I know that doesn't help you much because you're group is going to have one ship, but it solves the dilemma of crew vs teams. There's enough space for a team, but one title might swap two crew for one team, then the ship doesn't have to have a team slot.
Okay last Ortho. This is what gets me. The lambda shuttle without the wings is the size of the bridge and next section of the D5 Mantis.

Wow, i just realized thats your model ! Very impressive paint job. The base does not look weird.. I just wish the miniature was twices as large at least.
