Preordered

By KjetilKverndokken, in Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay

Ah, after a whole day of season 2 Trueblood maraton yesterday, the whole group gace their financal support to buy the game, and now Warhammer 3 is preordered through Maelstrom Games!

£53 - and thats not bad at all!

Next will be the Toolkit...

Anyone else ordered it?

Not yet.

I'm waiting for my favored local shop to put it in its offer (+hope some info on limited/collectors edition pop up, before game launch).

That's insanely cheap! I was prepared to bay the cursed 100 euros, but now it cost only around 60€ with mailing?!

I just send mail to my local (meaning: basicly the only) gameshop about which kind of price they would suck out of me if I'll buy it from them. I would like to buy my games from locals but as its usually around 10% cheaper to buy them online I'm mostly tempted to order it from the net... Sad but true.

Maelstrom has free shipping international for order above £10. Their mostly into wargaming, but wargaming rpg's is something they have begun with. Good sefvice to :-)

I just preordered from TFAW and got it for $79.99 here in the states. All three ordered came out to be abotu $111 US.

..so I ordered two extra sets of dice just to have a good stash since they were like $7.85 :)

Release date says Dec/2/09

your dice roller was amazing! are you going to update it when all the facts are known?

For me pre-ordering on the internet or buying in a hobby store, all depends on ready cash. This time and so close to christmas (will not pre-order it yet), I think I will use Maelstrom, my economy pretty much suck for the time being.

I don`t feel any loyalty to my local hobby store, since they obviously don`t feel for supporting their customers, beside selling, selling and selling products. And they are expensive, thanks to their primitive ways of converting us dollars or Euro to our currency. And as the norwegian crown is strong and the dollar weak, the loss is even more felt than before. A 30$ dollar product in their store will read back as a 51$ dollar product in reality. Now Outland sucks. enough ranting! I will buy online this time.

I hope nobody hangs up on the release date as its something the different stores just anticipate. I hope it will be late november - when predicting where the books are now and FFG's usual speed. And It can be very wrong and its after new year.

And yes Outland and every Norwegian Hobbystores sucks when it comes to availability and prices even the old praised Avalon. Though I support the store that sells me the product the cheapest - as some have families and cant use money to ""support"" a local store thats 30% more expensive then the net.

And now its the thing I hate.... the wait for the product! I hate waiting, but thats how it is with every rpg product that is not Wizard or WW size production. Well, gonna play some Vampire the Requiem/Cthulhutech/Eclipse Phase in the meantime....

As soon as my group found out about it and had time to read up on the new system (a day or two later), we pre-ordered as a group:

  • 5x Core ruleset
  • 3x Expansion
  • 3x Dice expansion

We got a pretty hefty discount from our distributor for our bulk order. As of last week all orders are pre-paid. We're just waiting for our swag.

I'm writing the new campaign now. Minus any scenarios they publish with the game or shortly after that, taking place in or around Altdorf, I have the first 20 or so sessions planned. If the mini-campaign seems to be going well (by session 10 or so), I have a new long term campaign in mind that should run us 1.5 - 2 years. I was going to run this using v.2 (after our Dark Heresy campain wraps up some time in November), but I'm converting it over to v.3 by stripping stat blocks and placing markers in areas with potential inserts for the new mechanics (to be filled in when I get the books).

If FFG allows it, then yes, all in all it hits their interest in some small degree (if dice packs will not sell good, then this script may become a thorn in the eye, thats why I plan to buy some extra dice packs lengua.gif ).
If not, I may think of something else, we will see.
