Glyph

By mordak2, in Descent: Journeys in the Dark

The rules state that a Hero has to start his turn on or adjacent to a Glyph to use it. Assuming that he ends his turn next to it, on his next turn can he move away from it, attack a monster and then move back to it and use it to move to town, given that he started his turn next to it?

Also if a hero has gone through a portal and therefore the hero's starting position is next to a glyph in the next dungeon level, is that starting his turn next to a glyth or does he need to end his turn there so that at the start of his next turn he has satisfied the requirements.

Hero in question ended the previous level on 1 wound, so the ruling is important to decide if the OL will get a chance to attack him, or if he can jump to town as soon as the next level starts, given that the Hero's always start next to a glyph.

Thanks.

From the RtL FAQ:

Q: Can a hero traveling to town via a glyph take any action before Restocking, such as attacking? Does returning from town still cost 1 MP? What other limits are placed on heroes in town and using glyphs?
A: A hero who begins his turn adjacent to or on top of an activated glyph has two options: take a normal turn or go to town. If he goes to town, he is immediately moved to the building of his choice and gets to Restock there. No movement points, no declared action – he just Restocks.

In RtL, a hero cannot move or attack before returning to town. And yes, he can move back to town as his first action on a new dungeon level, so you cannot play the usual trap cards that say "Play this card when a hero moves in an empty space" on him to make him lose his last life if he does. You also cannot play trap cards like Dark Charm that say "Play at the start of your turn and choose one hero", because it is not your turn yet.

I don't know all the Treachery cards, but it seems to me there is not much you can do...

Thanks, We got the first bit wrong then, but the second bit right.
