So I'm really excited about this because I've been painting minis for a while now, about 5 years, and I finally feel like my quality is up to par enough to offer my services. I unfortunately do not have the best camera so my picture taking abilities are lacking but I feel like they do enough justice to get the point across. If you guys could check out my fb page and like it if you like my stuff that would be awesome. Not looking for sales necessarily but I wouldn't turn you guys down. I think of you guys more as colleges then customers and the work I saw here before the repaint forum for taken down inspired me to push my skills to the next level. Thanks for everything and thanks for being such an awesome community.https://m.facebook.com/moseisleypainting

Nice work! Your pics don't look bad. A couple of tips that might help. Use a plain background. Neutral gray works well unless your mini is mostly gray. Some of your shots need more light on the front of the figure. You can use a sheet of white paper as a reflector.
If you're going to get into doing a painting service check out Micro Mark on the web. They used to sell a portable light studio for around $100.00. It included two lights, seamless backdrop and a small tripod for a small camera. The whole thing folded uo to the size of an attache case but half as thick. Actually pretty slick. I've had one for about 5 years. They also sell a crap load of tools for the modeler. If it's small they probably have it.
Good luck and again, nice work!

You can make a light box on the cheap. The plastic diffuser used in 2x4 fluorescent works ok. Because the minis are so small you can cut the diffuser into 18" lengths. They are brittle as hell so be careful. Score the smooth side several times with a plastic scorer. Tape the 3 pieces together to form an upside-down U. A piece of light cardboard or cloth can be used for your seamless backdrop. For lights get the clamp on type with the metal reflector. 3 would be ideal. Position the two side lights to the front of the light box and the third above the mini. The side lights will illuminate the sides and front while the vertical one will kill any shadows.
A frame to hold the lights can be made from 1/2 or 3/4 pvc. Two tees and two elbows are all the fittings needed. If you don't glue the vertical sides to the tees or the cross piece it can be stored easily.
Use the smallest aperture available to give you the greatest depth of field. A tripod or at least a monopd is recommended.
I used one of these for years before I splurged on the store bought one. I hope this helps.
