He talks about both X-Wing and Armada. I just started watching it so I don't know when he talked about Armada or how much he says.
He does start with X-Wing though.
My bad... here's the link

Last 10 minutes is Armada.
Edited by VanorDMAlex said something interesting at the very end.
Talking about the ISD he said it would take up more then a quarter of your points. So the ISD will be 100+
inb4 101 points
inb4 101 points
/Takes the bait
I bet the ISD1 costs 101 points!
.

.
Maybe
I'm still going with 127.
Why? I don't think FFG wants 3 of these things in a 400 pt list. With 20 points reserved for your admiral that leaves you 380 pts. If they each cost 127 minimum, there's no way you can get 3 into a list.
In addtion to the stat increases over the Victory SD's, I think there's another property that might make them worth more than 40 points over their smaller kin; physical board space. The ability to throw 8 dice from a much larger footprint may very well be a big part of a large ship's point cost.
I'm having a very hard time imagining the ISD-1 being expected to come anywhere near close a GSD + VSD in strength. Poor thing is going to flounder and die at that price, especially with the popularity of ACM w/Skreed.
It doesn't matter how big it is (in fact, its size makes it a rather easy target), those black dice freaking smart!
bring on the triple ISDs! GSD Skreed-spam will devour them pretty quickly anyway
(4 GSD w/ACM + VSD - 1 w/Skreed = 351)
or hell, Mon Motha leading 8 CR-90as (382). Poor big babies won't even be able to move anywhere while they drown in dice.
basically, I get the feeling that the ISD will be terribly inefficient, which is nothing new for ffg's design philosophy (see X-wing, big fat ships are chunky and powerful but they're get torn apart if assailed by multiple crappy buggers)
this is a good thing because an efficient ISD would unseat the VSD the moment it hits shelves. Rather, it promises to be quite the centerpiece to your fleet.
Edited by ficklegreendiceTo me, "it will come in at more than a quarter of your list, easily" implies with a few upgrades and doesn't have to mean that the base cost is over 100.

That's how I understood it, too. And I agree with those who see the size as a considerable disadvantage. So even with the increased durability and firepower I cannot see this being much more expensive than a VSD-II or AF2.

That's how I took it, too, so glad I'm in good company. Hopefully that'll be how it actually plays out...
Notable that Alex appears to believe a bomber list that took tenth had the potential to place much higher. Per Alex, he rolled "like twenty" dice and got "maybe three" hits, which prevented him from killing a VSD and winning the match.
Also, regarding the winning list: "He dodged a bullet. He never ran into a list that was full of squadrons. He never paid the price for minmaxing. And I think had that B-Wing, that big rebel cluster list gone up against it, that would have been a good fight" If he shares the board's concerns about squadron viability, he's doing a good job of hiding it.
e: Haha, "Well this is Star Wars Armada. Why am I running a flotilla? Why is the point size so small"

Well, he never remarked at all on the fact that (apparently) most lists in the tourney had few or no squadrons.
Then again, the Rogue keyword alone is likely to have a huge impact on the viability -necessity, even- of squadrons. Perhaps that's already factored in his view of the game.
I found his tournament analysis very interesting, given the discussions on this board atm.
so, the most expensive the naked ISD-1 can be to make up a quarter of your list is 94
94 * 4 = 376
376 + Motti = 400
unless someone cheaper comes along, ofc (but it sure as **** won't be vader)

After the 15 minutes of balance talk for X-Wing, I was surprised they didn't get into the fact that almost no one was running a significant number of squadrons.

It's probably not worth closely interrogating the words of an interview rather than a prepared or written statement. In context, I think he was talking about a fully upgraded ISD rather than a bare model, but it's impossible to say for sure, and it's certainly impossible to deduce a point range based on his words.
well, you can project given a.) his words, b.) the cost of the VSD-2 and c.) that old ass spoiler/leak w.e that had the ISD-1 at 92 points
a fully upgraded ISD costing 100 will have it in the same ballpark as the VSD-2 (VSD-2 + Dominator = 97 points, albeit well spent) and we know that's just not possible if this game is at all balanced (+1 front and back shield, +3 hull, +1 squadron, +contain, +1 more die on sides, +2 more dice in the front)
The old spoiler/leak w.e it was had the ISD-1 at 92 (7 point difference) and "a quarter of the list" match up quite nicely. Not only does 92-94 points take up an actual quarter of the list (given the cheapest commander) but it has room for upgrades to take it up to 100+ points very easily. A dedicated squadron support ISD (hangars + FC) would then run you 103/105 points.
We know for certain that the ISD-1 won't cost the same as the VSD-2 unless the dev team's gone wonky, and the low 90s fit the mold of the spoiler/leek and Alex's words. Of course, it could always cost more, but if we got too silly there then it just won't be viable.

Did anyone else notice he said the MC 30 has FOUR defense tokens: 2 evades & 2 redirects? Really looking forward to these ships ![]()

He also said its faster than a GSD. So its going to have speed 4.

i think Speed 4 is already visible in the pics we have of the card so far.
With General Riekaan, there are going to be a lot of YOLO Shrimps builds out there
