I look at the thing and just think Moon Knight!
Where's my Khonshu crew card?

Good point, although I haven't seen yet anyone playing a starviper outside of guri with Proton rockets.
Guri with Jammers and Lone Wolf is decent.

I've done very well with Xizor and a Z-95 swarm. I had some bad luck in my Regionals and almost made cut off if my dice hadn't failed me in my last game. Still, Xizor works best with Flechette Torpedo. It's great to stress out IG-88, Phantoms, or Soontir Fel. Ding them right as your Swarm is going in. Prevents crazy red maneuvers and boosting out of the way.
Besides all that, I'm really interested to see how this flies. I like the idea of a non-symmetrical dial. It could be fun and unpredictable....if you fly it that way. I could see most people flying it a certain way and making it too predictable, but if you do things oddly, you might be good. Kind of like the Tie Defender. Some fly it very straight forward, but other people get wacky with it.
I started out reading the Bounty Hunter wars and not liking Dengar, but I've started to ignore him in that and look at his history that I can find. I want Dengar to not suck, so I'm starting to like him. I see he's in The Clone Wars, but I haven't gotten to him yet. I also like how his gun is a modified MG34 from WWII.
Non-symmetrical dial?
What about that?
Here in Italy too Xizor has some use, but it is considered way too expensive and limited since it needs other ships to effectively have some chance of using his pilot ability, while Guri is extremely more flexible. (with Virago)
Edited by Arma QuattroIt has a non-symmetrical dial. So....you know how all ships so far can do everything symmetrical? This ship won't be able to. So, it can do things like a hard 2 right turn, but not do a 2 hard left turn. We don't know what it can or can't do yet, but that's an example. It also shows a white 2 S-loop, which is pretty cool. It will be weird to see on a big ship.
Yeah I know that ships have symmetrical dials. For some odd reason at a certain point I thought the YT 2400 would have had a non-symmetrical dial due to its shape, but well..
Where did you get this info? Me is curious. ![]()

It is mentioned in the Out of Hiding FFG article. It states:
"The Punishing One Expansion Pack brings the JumpMaster 5000 to your table as a pre-painted, large-base, turret ship with an attack value of two, agility of two, five hull, and four shields. Notably, the ship features a unique, asymmetrical maneuver dial, and you can equip it with the Punishing One title to boost its primary weapon's attack value to three."

Looking forward to know more about the Punishing One's dial for sure. Of course, we'll have plenty to keep us busy for a while once Wave 7 and the Raider get released... right? We should anyway, but we often (always) want (beg for) new info, then complain that everything is spoiled before release. Oh well. :-)
About the StarViper comments, I've had fun with a Xizor build for some casual games, but maybe it could perform well competitively too:
Xizor (Virago, Autothrusters, Advanced Sensors) or (Virago, Autothrusters, FCS, VI)
Syndicate Thug (Autoblaster Turret, Unhinged Astromech) x3
100 points
Not easy to fly, but three range 1 Autoblaster Turret bubbles can be hard to avoid for the opponent.
Edited by admatXizor (Vi virago FCS thrusters) + 5 zs, done
Or xizor + special k + 3 feedback pirates
I think the dial on the pic shows a white S-loop to the left. I bet it can do white one way and red the other... or none the other.
There have been some Xizor lists that have made it to the top tables at Regionals. Some have come close to winning it. I did great in my first 3 games (beat brobots, brobots, and then a YT-support list), but then failed against Phantoms. I made one mistake and that ended the game. My last game still could've seen me in final eliminations, but my dice just flubbed hard. My list works great for Fat Turrets and brobots, but is a little weak vs. Soontir and Phantoms. The Flechette Torp. is critical in those matches, though.
Xizor w/ title, FCS, autothrusters, VI, flechette torps, Inertial Dampeners
5 x Binayre Pirates
I've written up a battle reports, as have other Xizor players. You should take a look. I find Fat Turrets to be the easiest to beat. I love when I see them on the other side of the table.
EDIT: OH, and there has been some success with a build similar to yours. At least once, but possibly more. I don't recall that well, though.
Edited by heychadwickWIthout any extra shields or defensive options it will be rather soft for a large ship. 9 in total hits and 2 in evade.
This should be a pain to kill.
Dengar (33)
Determination (1)
Greedo (1)
Salvaged Astromech (2)
Glitterstim (2)
Engine Upgrade (4)
Punishing One (12)
Total: 55
View in Yet Another Squad Builder
Greedo's downside is non-existent when you toss out all crits. I could even be convinced that Hull upgrade is worth it over engine with the built in barrel roll and ability to shed crits. Glitterstim can be popped defensively as well, or you can use it when you have an attacker in arc.

That is an interesting build. Similar to Leebo. Recon might serve it better than Greedo.
My thought: R4-B11 may have found a home.
Dengar: title, R4-B11, K4, Predator, glitterstim
K4 or action gives lock to the mech. Predator helps with the loss of TL.
I still vote R4 Aggromech + Recon Specialist on Dengar.

Yea it is. As I've said I thought that the YT 2400 would have had something Ike that due to its shape and because I saw (perhaps on some squadron builder) the reference dial which was missing the hard 1 turn.
Too bad that it was just a mistake on the builder.
I wonder how this could be exploitable by my Defender+Tie swarm. ![]()
I'm guessing that the "asymmetrical" dial would be more along the lines of like "2 hard turn left is white, 2 hard turn right is red", etc, etc, instead of having a 2 hard turn right but not left, for example.
I agree, otherwise it would become extremely predictable and could potentially lead to dead-end situations.
