Huntmans Vibrospear from Enter the Unknown? Corellian Compound Bow? Slugthrowe Rifle?.. Any cutting edge melee with pierce might make sense?...
Any ideas?

Is it a melee weapon, or a ranged weapon? Is it energy, or analog? How do you envision it?
Call it a vibropoon!
Powered or hand thrown?
If I`m going to play a quarren trader/marauder (the traveling fishmonger) I see it as a big spear or trident like kind of harpoon, a melee weapon.
If I go for the herglic trader/big game hunter (the traveling hunting- fishing- and wilderness-gear tester/demonstartor/salesman) I can see it as a harpoon gun or bow of some kind. Ranged heavy.

That... that might be a different thing.
Well vibro sorta defeats the purpose of a harpoon which is to pierce and snare. Seems like vibro would shake a harpoon loose. I'd go for pierce and ensnare qualities regardless of whether it's ranged or melee or it wouldn't be a very good harpoon.
I mentioned it in that other thread, but...
Vibrotrident: (Melee, Damage +1, Critical 2, Range [Engaged], Defensive 2, Pierce 4, Vicious 3.)

Guess I better listen to the pirate. Hehe... But not sure that`s how vibro technology works, I don`t think it actually vibrates so you can feel it that much, it only affects the cutting edge and makes it sharper in a way. And I can see the cutting edge going in and being blunt on the side you use when you pull back, so that could work. I guess it doesn`t matter that much enyways if you want to kill big alien monster fish:p
But you had a very good point and I will consider it!
Edited by RodianCloneA "bayonet harpoon" I could attach om my big game hunters rifle would also be very cool.
This is definitely not a harpoon and not a fully written statblock, but the Scarred Gladiator in the Force and Destiny Core Rulebook has a Vibro-Trident. The qualities make it a sick weapon, but that's up to your GM to decide if it should be allowed.
Vibro-trident
Skill : Melee
Damage : +1 (She has a Brawn of 4 and the damage is listed as 5)
Critical : 2
Range : Engaged
Qualities : Defensive 2, Pierce 4, Vicious 3
The point of a harpoon is to attach something to the target and then be able to pull it in yes? I think you could almost use any weapon appropriate ranged weapon with up to Medium range and add Ensnare X - where X equal a reasonable number of rounds. That would be the simplest solution I think.
