As much as I'm looking forward to Battlefront, a word of caution: air combat in Battlefield 3 & 4 was kind of terrible. Required a ridiculous amount of practice to become proficient, and in the meantime the skies were ruled by godly players who you would never be as good as, and who would shred your aircraft in a couple seconds flat. Now, maybe they're addressing both those problems in Battlefront...but maybe not.

Plus who knows how bad the next Sony hack will be.

Ye. Dragon age has been garbage since 2 and mass effect was completely ruined. TOR is garbage. And Battlefield 4 was unplayable on release. Titanfall was bland.

Like anything your bound to have bad games, but on more than one occasion I could get 1st place, but again if I can do it anyone can.

It does take practice, but that's with anything, and you didn't need to spend a lot of time.

When you only had machine guns you relied on excellent skills. Unlocks made it easier once you got rockets, chaff etc.

Judging by the video for this Battlefront it won't be as hard as flying in. Bf4

I've heard that, and I kind of like the PS style controller layout better, but I already own a couple cool Xbox 360 games (Skyrim, Mass Effect, Fallout) so the backward compatability is nice, and have 1 or 2 friends that own Xbox one now.

Ok this game might have something good in it. I cant help but notice that the game mechanics are similar to TIE Fighters in that you must regulate engine power and weapon power. I hope the damage caused by ships like the TIE Interceptor and A-Wing in this video are not true to the mechanics as they are not true to the lore, unless they both had cannons on a low power setting.

Never played call of duty or battle field, however I heard the controls are similar too Top Gun: Hardlocks controls, if so I will have a major advantage over anyone else playing this game sine thats all a play now days sim wise. First place nation wide every category.

Idk but I was reading earlier today on kotaku and they said this game mode would be 20 players. 10 vs 10 and the rest filled with bots.

Pretty disappointing to be honest.

Since they are using the frostbite 2 Engine I figured we'd get the same amount of players in a game as battlefield

40 in walker assault. Not bad. Wish for 64.

I hope they have a conquest mode that'll be 64 players, but not going to get my hopes up.

As for this aspect of it, hate the idea of mainly flying against bots.

Just doesn't seem near as challenging.

They were working on this year's ago and in the Alpha build you could run around on the ground, jump in a tie, fly up into orbit and land in a star destroyer, all with no load screens, and battles taking place on the ground and in the air.

I hope they're is a game mode where you can still run around and the objective is to try to destroy the opponent capital ships. By either blowing it up with enough firepower from your ships, or by docking in it and blowing it up from the inside

(could do this in Battlefront 2)

Most the problems your talking about are gonna happen in every flight sim and in real life. The more talented, skilled, and experience you have in an aircraft the more likely you'll win with the exception if you let your ego get to your head. Now I did see a vs video between HALO and Battlefield and I thought it was freaking stupid that people could just jump out of their fighter craft and take out anyone chasing them in their aircraft using a pistol or SMG. Thats a problem I hope doesn't creep into SWBF.

Youll love it, the interface is really different from the 360 though and don't forget to do the tutorials for all the extra features on the system.

I am pretty cautious myself the only good current EA game I played was Titian Fall. The last real good EA games I ever played was the Tiberium saga, the Red Alert Saga, and Nuclear Strike.

Not sure what it's like now, but games weren't even running at 1080p, and in one case (forget which game. Destiny I think) the developers toned down the framerate/or/700p on ps4 because they didn't want one system to perform better than the other (which actually really bugged me, because of Ms crappy machine games are actually being effected on ps4)

Idk but like Facebook I've become totally anti Xbox.

The ps network is pretty good, but has had issues, but so hasn't Xbox.

It's too bad. Right up till their reveal of Xbox One I was all for it. After their shenanigans, I basically won't buy any ms products.

My next laptop will be a macbook

I use to love the 360 up until Ms tried to pull a fast one and make second hand games obsolete.

I haven't been following the news on the new consoles at all, in fact I only just got the 360 less than a year ago when a friend needed some cash and sold it to me for $60 with a bunch of games. I'm no fan of Microsoft, I stopped using Window about nine years ago, until my macbook pro started having trouble playing video (but it is like 9 years old), now on a dell with vista I got for free but I hate it. I still use the old mac for music production and graphic design work though, I think the OS is far superior, even if the hardware is kind of an over priced scam, lol

Inquisition was great. Mass Effect was outstanding all the way through. TOR is decent, not garbage. Battlefield was all great before 4. More importantly, EA has NOTHING to do with the design of the game itself. They're a label. A marketing/producing company. You're not discrediting EA by saying games were crap. It's the other crap like destroying smaller, good dev companies that people hate EA for.

Why is it the Imperials the ones trying to escape? Is every X-wing squadron now Red Squadron? (okay fuschia squadron sounds stupid). Also why can't they put this in Space with Star Destroyers when a decade ago we could with Nintendo's worst console the game cube?

Well the trailer looks nice but just how many times have you seen a nice trailer when the final product does not look as advertised? Did we see some gameplay? A little more than what was announced but I'm still not convinced. It is scripted edited story arc and all but does not look anything like the gameplay. I'm still not preordering NOT from EA.

How does it feel to be wrong (on at least 3 out of 4, I haven't bothered with Inquisition)?

BF was good through 2142, meh to awful after. Mass Effect was excellent-to-good and then had the singularly worst ending in the history of video games. TOR is like bad fanfic and can't do anything interesting because it refuses to stop badly rehashing existing SW ideas.

EA takes good devs and grinds their souls into the ground over a bottom line, they have no interest in producing good games, only shovel-able ones.

I can tell you some good things about Xbox One. With Cloud it has more power, it also completely backups everything you do in all your games. If someone steals your Xbox you can get a new one and Microsoft will have all your game data loaded into the new one. You don't have to get a Kinect but if you do it adds a lot of control you wouldn't have both in games and in the hub. Some of those games have special Kinect only features, like in ALIEN: ISOLATION it uses the data collected from your body by reading your heart beat to effect the game play. Xbox live is much more secure than the PS or Computer equivalent. Xbox Live has been hacked once maybe twice, PS network has been hacked way to many times, and Sony has been taken to court twice now because of the security issues with their Network, one of those cases involved a major hack in the European Union.

The exclusives are much better. Xbox has HALO, My Little Pony dlc timed exclusives, Gears of War, Killer Instinct, most Rare games including Battle Toads, World Of Tanks (its got features that the Computer version doesn't like Star Wars themed gameplay or LASER tanks on the Moon.) If we are talking about the 360 then you can add a bunch of Star Wars exclusive stuff. Nintendo exclusives are good... except Star Fox, they just cant continue his story they have to keep redoing the series, Sony exclusives so far have been dull. There might be some exceptions but most the exclusives have had boring game play, the only thing good going for them is pretty animation, BUT good graphics can only take you so far, its the story and game play that matters.

Just as a side note the only reason at this point I would pick Killer Instinct over Street Fighter 5, its a PS4 PC exclusive, is because of characters. Street Fighter 5 doesn't have Dhalsim in it, which is a deal breaker since it also doesn't have Akuma. They keep adding characters every season in Killer Instinct. For the third season they added Rash from Battle Toads. Thats a pretty freaking awesome character too have I think.

I also thought you should know during the DRM announcement for Xbox, one of the Microsoft employes "Ed Fries" was very antagonistic towards customers concerned they couldn't play their Xbox if they had no internet connection. He was really really antagonistic. Then one day he quit working at Microsoft and became like a head director for Ouya. It happend really quickly. I think its a bit specious and no one ever talks about that ether. Ouya is another 8th gen gaming system but because of issues it was not legally allowed to be shown off at E3 the year it came out. Very recently Ouya died and was absorbed into razor. Ouya would pay up to a mil for funding on new games if it granted that game would be published first on their system. They eventually owed too much money too these game designers. Unfortunately because of contract they are not legally obligated to pay what they owe to these people. So they were screwed out of a lot of money.

About the game itself. I wish there was a way to play these beautiful games without the interface and all the helpers. Its beautiful, but imagine how great it would be if you didnt have a big red circle and a VEHICLE DAMAGED text every time you hit an enemy.

The Vehicle damaged and battle text can be disabled. As far as the aiming reticule goes, I'm sure it's needed
