Has this topic been discussed, I must have missed it if it did. So what does the Advanced Homing Missile Does?
Does any know what the Advance Homing Missile Does?
Adv. Homing Missiles (3)
Attack 3, Range 2
Attack [Target Lock]:
Discard this card to perform this attack. If this attack hits, deal
1 faceup Damage card to the defender. Then cancel all dice results.
It's a 3 die, dont spend TL, to hit a target with a face up damage card, ignoring all shields.
Do you think it's worth it, or there is better ordnance?
Range 2 is a dealbreaker.
Rhymer might like it.

The ability isn't entirely unique, as it basically throws a small Proton Bomb directly at the target.
Still, it's a 3 point missile with a massive effect that's useful on ships without 3 agility.
It also has an 8/33 chance of one-shotting E-Wings, A-Wings, Z-95 Headhunters, and Phantoms.
So yeah, worth trying, at least.
The interesting thing is that it's alpha-able, but it preys on non-fat ships, unlike every other alpha-list in the game.
Do you think it's worth it,
Situationally. A couple of them ought to be able to land a couple face up cards on a fat turret early in the game, which has a decent chance to cripple the turret ship's effectiveness. As a bonus, if you aren't facing a fat turret, there is a small chance of being able to pop a 2 hull ship in one shot, if you can hit it.
Range 2 is a dealbreaker.
Range 2 is not necessarily the deal breaker. Tactician is only range 2 and they had to nerf that card.
However one use only and range 2 is the deal breaker.
Range 2 only, Whaaa? ![]()
Well that's got me scratching head.
Does it effect Chewbacca?
Rhymer might like it.
That's an affirmative! Though I believe the Rhymer is too expensive for a 100 point game.
Does it effect Chewbacca?
By the wording of the card, no. It "DEALS" a face up damage card, which is what Chewbacca is immune to. It would immediately be turned face down.

These are very cheap missiles. It balances out.
However one use only and range 2 is the deal breaker.
They're only three points though. For a proton bomb effect.
Edited by Blue FiveI could see putting one on Lt Blount just about any time I have him in a list. Since he always hits, all he needs is a TL and to be at range 2.
I'm going to try the 38 point Maj Criter. I doubt he'll be very viable, but I he'll be fun to fly at least.
Maj Rhymer

-EM
-AHM x 2
-MkIIs
Maybe throw give him a BSP wingman with DTF to keep crits off him. The beauty of the build is he'll have 4 shots of AHMs at any range. Against Falcons and Decimators he's basically a guarantee of a crit.
Edited by Jo JoI have never been too interested in TIE bomber builds before, but adv homing missiles has inspired me a bit:
Scimitar squadron pilot
-Adv homing Missiles
-ion pulse missiles
-extra munitions
-munitions failsafe
25 point support bomber, won't be dishing out heavy damage but it can be a real nuisance if ignored. If the enemy chooses to target it early, it's only 25 points and fairly durable, it can take a few hits while drawing fire from your more valuable ships. This build maximizes the efficiency of munitions failsafe since these missiles are equally as effective if only one hit gets through. You are guaranteed to either fire off all four of your missiles successfully or die trying.
You could of course double up on one kind of missile if you like, as they are both 3 points, but I like the idea of having the ability to ion even a large ship in one shot and then hammer it with adv homing missiles or more ion shots while the rest of your squad tears into it as well.

I like this concept. Though since the AHM doesn't use the Target Lock, would Predator be better, And I'm thinking that EU to position better.
When it hits, it kills Scyks, A-wings, Z-95's, E-wings, and soon the new Inquisitor's tie 21% of the time.

Why predator? You might as well spend the TL to modify the dice if you need to, with predator the TL becomes redundant. With PTL, you can grab a focus to use on offense/defense or barrel roll if need be.

Predator's redundant if you've got the target lock. If you don't need the focus token from PTL you can use it defensively.
