Disney had sent a C&D order on it and it got pulled from the App stores. Now of course they couldn't delete it from your phone once it is downloaded anymore than Konami can delete P.T. off a PS4 hard drive. But being pulled from the store and a pending lawsuit if there were any updates or releases of it is pretty much a death sentence to a fan project.

Now what deal was made to allow for the app to be updated, that is a good question. Possibly something to do with spoilers as only products that are out to the public are updated and none of Wave 8 stuff is added in. But that is just a wild guess. I am certain the creator would not do anything against Disney's and Lucas Films' wishes as was sated when the post about the C&D order was made.

Need this for IOS we do.

I imagine something to do with the ads being removed (IE. Not for profit)

I wonder why it asks for more permissions than it used too, like access to identity location and image files.

Its a compilations of all the ships and cards released for X-wing miniatures. It is a great organization tool telling all the point costs and can sort by type or even set. If you need to know the maneuver dial just look at the ship. If there is an upgrade you are looking for but forgot what expansion it comes in it can tell you what expansion pack and how many copies of that card in that set.

X-wing Squads Designer had the same fate, but updates regularly through the application itself. For me it has replaced X-wing Companion entirely.

I use squad builder to create a list but I use X-wing companion for reference purposes as it makes looking at pilot and upgrade cards and maneuver dials easier than ever.

I don't use Squadron builder anymore, I use squads designer. Look it up, I'm a bit leery to link it directly here, since it received a C&D and all. Squads designer has pics when you build your squad, along with pictures of crew cards, maneuvers, everything you need. It's basically a 2 in 1, with collection manager (it can count how many copies you own of every card, token, etc).

I use it for easy reference and it's great to see it up to date.

Squad designer is maintained via google play and includes sweet functionality like local printing.

They're a great combination for android users.

OT I remember years ago my Brother who is a musician was in band called Deathstar.. they had to change their name... I don't recall the actual wording or the letter they got.. but they wound up changing their name to death comet .. and its not like they were a super successful world famous band...

First I was like Yeaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Finaly, this wonderful app is beeing continued.

Then, I noticed it likes to get access to Identity and location i was like WTF??????

For what purpose does an app like this, which is only about displaying things, need access to identity and location?

Is this a mistake or is this app now spyware?

Have'nt installed the latest version and i will refuse to update until the app comes identity and location access free.... again.. as it was before.

Can I have a confirmation on "adds removed" please.

Adds caused problems on my tablet, slowing it down or the app stopped working and had to be opened again, so I actually uninstalled, resorting to online squadron builders instead.

If someone can confirm the "no adds" I'll download it again.

It wants access to your identity so it can save your squads into the cloud. At least that's my guess.

It's not back in the Google Play store, but it did get an update. So, if you don't have it installed now, you can't get it.

....but it's SUPER COOL that it's updated.
