I call it..."A Dash of Special K"

So I'm thinking of doing a riff on super dash with corran:

Dash Rendar

PtL, EU, Kyle Katarn, Outrider, Mangler Cannon

Miranda

Twin Laser Turret, Gunner, Advanced Slam

3 points left over for munitions of choice (I'm leaning towards Ion Bomb)

I'm thinking that Miranda brings more health to the table, and the potential for some brutal shots and some pretty nice flexibility. She can fire her first turret attack, drop the second to 2 dice to regen a shield, and still get another 2 die attack if it misses. She can also wallop someone with up to a 4 die range one turret attack, and her higher ps means you should be able to know exactly when to drop a bomb for maximum effect.

Thoughts?

Well it's only 2 ships. And Miranda don't looks like great killer/tanker/evader. Some play tests needed to be sure, but Wave 7 will be in my country in couple of months or more. So I'll be waiting for some reports!

I've been looking into some Miranda builds myself. As I don't own a YT-2400, I'll be linking her up to the Solo, but that's beside the point.

I feel TLT and Gunner are a bit conflicting/don't have enough synergy. I would use one or the other.

I personally think I prefer TLT, but since I haven't played with it yet, that could change.

If you remove Gunner, you should have 8 free points. If you have C3PO, that would be a good addition to Miranda, but a point less and almost the same result is Jan Ors (which most people will have).

As an added bonus, Jan Ors also allows your Dash to take an evade if needed, even from a focus token from Kyle!

The 6 remaining points can become Extra Ammunitions and a bomb/missile/torpedo of choice (Proximity Mines, Conner Net, Concussion Missiles, Plasma Torpedo... your meta call).

Now you have more survivability on Miranda (even a bit more on dash) and some extra tricks for her as well.

the kizaracks...karacks...khizzhacks...******* Special-Ks are named such because they're nice and slim and lightly toasted (also no one can pronounce their name <_< )

the K-wing is K-mart, because you can buy a LOT of ****, although some of it is of suspect quality...

More seriously, those 3 points (imo) need to be HLC. Mangler Dash is just...whimpy. The extra HLC dice lets you not only punch through thrusters (soonts & aggressors especially), but it keeps you ahead on the unavoidable dice-fest versus PWTs (HLC Dash will beat them at range 3, handily)

As for Miranda, I don't gunner is a great choice. If TLT works like Clusters, you'd need to miss both attacks to get it to trigger (and you will be using TLT, except at range one obviously). As you know, her ability is once per round and 2 dice PWTs are...lets say less than impressive.

C3po seems like the simple, auto-include option if trying to run her "fat"

imo K-wing must be cheap. PS2 with conner net, proximity mines and extra munitions - fly first, drop some unavoidable bombs right in front of nasty enemy ship and shoot it right there! TLT will be nice too. SLAM only for arc-dodging or blocking

Cheap is a very relative term. A Warden with conners/proxs/munis is 32 points, and it's going to be 34 because A-SLAM is too good to pass up with Action: mines.

"Fat" Miri (TLT + C3po) clocks in at 38 points and possesses the same amount of guaranteed mitigation as fat han (c3po + regen versus c3po + evade). She is neither as maneuverable nor hits as hard, but hey 38 points is 8 less than Han naked and 6/7 points cheaper than the average Corran (her PS 8 shield-regaining partner in crime).

wow! I didn't think about Miri like SLAMing Corran. It may be nice if use her like strike and run far away for regen. But TLT is only 2 damage per turn max and it's not so great for 38 points.

I ran a very similar list and i've tested it tonight Vs Bossk, Latts Razzi, and a Binayre Pirate. I won the first game 100 to 58 and the second 100-0

IMHO Dash is better than a Falcon for the risk to take a blast from missiles and is a gread arc dodger. In adding, is a good call against Latts Razzi that can easily support the others ships removing the only green dice form falcon, and of course C3PO that is a must have.

Anyway, I set Dash with HLC instead of Mangler, i also wanted play Mango cannon to spend the 3 points left on Miranda, but i preferred erarn 1 more red dice to face off Soontir and stealth device for example and hit hard the big ships like the ones i dealt with.

Miranda is great....the slam is simply amaizing, and i slam between the two hounds and i place a seismic charge at r1. TLT is a great solution, with the primary weapon we have to prey for 2 hit, with this turret with 3 dice and two attack we can easily put this two damage on the target and of course the pilot ability helps at r1 for four dice or with TLT against Soontir or Corran.

I think it's behind the Maneuver Dial/Template system, but yeah, this works :)

You could probably make a game entirely out of Maneuver Dial / Template with SLAM and Decloak.

I'm thinking of tweaking the list to give Dash an HLC as others have suggested, kitting out Miranda like so:

TLT, 3P0, Shield Upgrade.

3P0 gives her some survivability, and since this version has no bombs (proxies it last night, Conner net is FAR better on low PS pilots, and Miranda would rather be shooting than positioning for bombs) advanced slam is less helpful. A focus for defense doesn't do a heck of a lot with only one defense die. Hence the shield upgrade. Not only does it give the list 20 total health, but it goes nicely with her shield regen or shield draining.

Against a Deci/Fell list, Conner Nets or ion bombs would be fantastic, but against that list I would rather play a Warden and 3 Blues anyway.

Yes, SLAM is really fun, look at the image, my K-Wing is behind the two hounds, but covered by debrids token. Miranda in the previous round perform a 2 right bank, and then a 2 left bank putting the seismic charge :D

She did not shot , suffer the Bossk's attack ( but no crit of mango cannon + Bossk ability ) with an extra dice from debrids. 1 free damage from seismic charge for Bossk and Latts Razzi ;)
