Most Wanted Objective

By Rottenreason, in Star Wars: Armada Rules Questions

I had a question about the Most wanted Objective. I played a game last night I know I fumbled the rule a bit.

The Objective card reads

Setup: After deploying fleets, the second player chooses 1 of his ships and 1 of the first player's ships to be the objective ships.

Special Rule: While attacking an objective ship, the attacker may add 1 die of any color that is already in its attack pool to its attack pool.

End of Game: The fleet point cost of a destroyed objective ship is doubled. Do not double the cost of its upgrade cards.

Does a squadron attacking the objective ship get to throw an extra die IE X-Wing rolls 2 red dice against Objective ship or Tie Fighter rolls 2 blue dice against the objective ship, or does the rule only apply to ships?

It was FAQ'd!

Most Wanted

The special rule for the “Most Wanted” objective card should read: “While a ship is attacking an objective ship, it may add 1 die of any color that is already in its attack pool to its attack pool.”

Ships attacking.

What is FAQ'd?

I had a question about the Most wanted Objective.

You were not the only person to ask the question. Many, many people asked it, to the point that they put it in the "Frequently Asked Questions" document, available for download in the support section of the product list...

https://www.fantasyflightgames.com/en/products/star-wars-armada/

Click on "Support" and then look at the FAQ document

Simple as that. I found the answer for you there and posted it here.

Oh nice. I'll need to print this out and replace the core set rule booklet with this. Does FFG make large amount of rules changes like this often? The link you provided would be the place to go for all future rule updates/changes? Are players given a time when rule changes will be coming into effect?

I tried to search Most Wanted Objective in the Rules section of the forums and got no results. The next best thing I knew to do was ask.

Usualy FFG keeps actual rule changes (or erratas as they are called) to a minimum. The FAQ mostly contains clarifications on subjects many people ask questions about. That is to say, they are not changeing the rules, just clarifying how to interpret them in regards to specific cards and/or situations.

They do try to keep it at a minimum - a lot of it is clarifcations, rather than outright changes.

When they do big updates, there is usually an article on the "News" section about it... For example, when this FAQ was updated on the 24th of July, there was one.

I gave a general link, rather than a specific download link, that way you can check if its updated - as future updates could invalidate a download link, never know...

But that will be the place to go for Clarifications first of all. If something's not there, then check the Forums :)

also, don't replace the rulebook with thd FAQ, it is designed to support and suppliment, not replace.

I had a extremely busy day at work I got to read a few pieces of it. Once I got home I relaxed it was just rule clarification. Still helpful.
