Now I face a real dilemma: buy online and be able to eat food, or support the local stores where I play?

How much of a savings are we talking about? A few bucks? If so, pay the extra to support your FLGS. $15 or more? A sale is a sale and we live in a capitalistic free market.

Mind you, I'm spoiled as CSG IS my local FLGS.

The difference is like 40% of msrp

Thank you Amazon gift card balance for my *technically* free Raider!

There's no competing with that. I hate Walmart, and I'm willing to pay a little bit more at practically any other store to avoid Walmart... but when Walmart has what I want at almost half off... I must extend my dollar thusly.

ha ha nice! I play alot at Sci Fi City, but do buy a good amount of stuff at Coolstuff Maitland, since it's usually the quickest way to get new releases.

Walmart will never have a table for me to game at, nor will they ever host a store championship.

100% of my money goes to the FLGSs I actually play at.

The tough part is when you have two or three stores in town that you play at -- who do you buy it from then? Decisions, decisions.

I buy 100% of my gaming stuff from my FLGS, but it is hard for me to criticize others that are looking to stretch their gaming dollar.

I play at a local store and have bought stuff from them ... Then realized that Min Market is half hour drive for me ...

And no beer is way worse than no water or food...

Where are you getting 40% off MSRP?

I ordered all of Imperial assault Core set and Wave 1 with my Raider PreOrder.

New Rule: You are not allowed to brag about buying 100% of your stuff from your FLGS when your FLGS is coolstuff, and therefor the cheapest possible place to buy anything.

If you want to support your FLGS, but are having trouble justifying not going for a 40% off deal, I can suggest a hybrid approach: Buy the 40% off deal, then spend the money you saved at your FLGS. You get more swag for your money, and you still throw a good chunk of money at your FLGS ;)

My birthday is at the end of the month. This will be perfect. :D

The one you have store credit with from winning a tournament? That's how I'm deciding =P

That's why I stated I can't criticize those that buy from internet sources to stretch their gaming dollar. Besides, you're local FLGS is Cool Stuff too Crabbok! lol

I tend to split my gaming dollars between the stores I'm active at. It's not an exact science, but I try to do my part to help them keep the lights on.

As long as someone doesn't mind there being no FLGSs remaining in business, it's a valid strategy. Otherwise, it's a classic tragedy of the commons situation - my gaming dollars support the store and help cover rent, lights and staffing to keep the store open for casual play nights. Meanwhile, the "stretch my gaming dollar" guy shows up and benefits, while contributing nothing towards keeping the store operating.

I'm not saying that people who buy online are bad people. But online shoppers that take advantage of the tables provided by a FLGS are moochers, plain and simple. I have yet to hear a convincing argument otherwise.

Maybe before September but I wouldn't place a bet on it.

My FLGS owner is a good friend of mine. He checked in with his distributor and was told they can start shipping the Raider to stores on the 11th, which means they'll actually show up in stores as early as the 12th (next Wednesday). It all depends on when your FLGS decides to have their shipment arrive.

Clearly, one from each!

"**** fool, I knew you were going to say that."

You have misunderstood. CSG started out as a little store in Winter Park, FL. It's still there. That is my FLGS

Wow, there must have been three or four guys rowing that boat.

Maybe they sprung for an outboard?

So, shipping, that means it'll be here in Europe in tiny supplies by Christmas right?

Where are you getting 40% off MSRP?

Depending on local sales tax, I'll use TN and an online store thats 70% of retail

100 Raider is 109.25 at a store in TN vs 70 online

39 dollar difference, thats quite a bit, paying 64% online of what i would pay at a store (assuming you order enough to get free shipping)
