My friend was kind enough to retrieve a YV and Kihraxz from GenCon for me, I flew three matches today and lost all three, but then I've never claimed to be much more than an ape pushing ships around a table.
I first flew Razzi, who can burn a target lock on an enemy ship when a friendly ship targets that ship, to reduce their agility by one. I HAD to try the Hound's Tooth title, and threw on weapons engineer, outlaw tech, and K-4, with Ion projector. I flew him with Talonbane (PTL and EU) and a hotshot Binayre. It was fun, but I flew Cobra badly and he died fast. His ability was WAY fun, though. Five dice at range one? Sure. Razzi's ability was nice, and between the crew it triggered fairly often. The times I had to pull a red two-turn or full stop, I usually still had a target lock or two and got the free focus from the Jawa. When the YV fell, deploying the Pup was fun as hell, but would definitely be of more use when there are still, other ships on the board... The Pup didn't fare well on its own. Also, I only got bumped once and the Ion Projector didn't trigger, so it may just be a variant of APL.
For the last two games, I switched to Evol with HLC and the same crew, but no title or ion projector. It was fun, and Evol's 180° of HLC was nuts. Finally succumbed to more maneuverable ships, with Cobra dying first again.
They are really fun ships, with a lot of potential. My three losses (the first two were close) were due largely to lack of fore-thought and experience on my part, and just wanting to try out all the shiny new toys, rather than the quality of the craft themselves.
Physically, the figures are beautiful and I can't wait to start some repaints, particularly some mods of additional Kihraxz fighters to represent the other chassis types.
