I'm a little surprised at the lack of chatter on the ghost

By nikk whyte, in X-Wing

With the phantom docked, it's throwing a four die primary with a follow up turret shot. Every turn. That's better than Corran, and warthogs. Combo that with actual Corran? You mean I can have 4 ships worth of fire power every other turn? Thanks, don't mind it I do.

What do you guys think?

Unless you run the generic, it's probably going to be a bit expensive for a decent Corran

36pts (probably) for the PS3 generic, Ghost at what, 16-18 minimum, 35 for Corran. 13pts for upgrades, with probably 5-6 of those for a turret upgrade. 7pts for Corran, 4 of which will be R2-D2, so you can run what, FCS+VI? PTL, no FCS?

So you've got a low-PS generic with decent attacks, and Corran. It's not as good as it looks.

The assault shuttle will probably be priced closer to an X-Wing than that. It's a HWK that loses a shield to pick up 2 attack, and the PS2 HWK is 16 points.

Oh, I know I'm lowballing, but it's easier to shut things down that way than if I highball and get disproved later.

Z95 would be a better baseline comp. I'd assume the Shuttle to clock in around 17-18 points. It basically makes the same jump from a Z-95 as the Squint makes from a TIE Fighter (trades TL for Evade, picks up Barrel Roll and +1 attack).

Once you load a Ghost with a shuttle, a turret and two crew members, you're probably going to be looking in the neighborhood of 75-80 points.

I'm shocked the attack shuttle has an attack of 3 AND it has a turret AND it can evade.... WHAT CAN'T THIS LITTLE THING DO?!?!

There is no way this little guy is going to be cheaper than an X-wing. I think we might see the game's first 1 ship list (as when it is docked you're are only flying one ship)!

I don't think the Z-95 is a very good comparison because it doesn't have a crew or turret slot. By the time you buy up the PS from 2 to 3 and add a point for the turret slot and the crew slot you're at 20-21 points.

Slots aren't worth points--or, at least, they shouldn't be worth points in most cases.

Compare the Attack Shuttle to an Interceptor: they have similar durability, similar action bars, and the same Attack value.

I think if it cost 99 pts by itself and only had 2 dice primary attack, I'd still want it. It's the Ghost! It may be new but it is rapidly becoming an iconic ship of Star Wars Lore. I'm not really even concerned how it does in tournament play, I just want it. Though, I must say, that it could prove ... interesting... having a "one-ship build".

Whatever... it looks... FUN.

No i think you hit it there. Decently equipped Ghantom plus Corran... Thats pretty unlikely. I would also think that 2 Warthogs are cheaper than this and arguably do more damage. Especially with the new turret.

I don't think we'll see a one ship list, on the account of how stupid that sounds.

No one has enough information to make any real big statements about the Ghost being Overr/Under or just right in terms of game play.

Sure you do. You know it's cost, and it's statline. That's enough for a jousting efficient at the least.

Not quite.

We know Hera's cost, but not her pilot ability.

We don't know any of the Attack Shuttle's costs, but it has interesting stat-lines.

Stat-line:

4 attack, 0 agility, 16 hp, utterly unique attack configuration.

First ship with certain upgrades (Systems + Turret), (Crew + Crew + Turret) (Crew + Crew + Systems)

Title is insane (starting with Scum Scarlet offense, and joining Corran Horn and the BTL-A4 in getting multiple attacks per round, eventually having the Attack Shuttle disembark as its own ship...)

It's an odd-ball. And Odd-balls require more knowledge to evaluate.

Yay! A third thread about the Ghost!

Do we have someone who'll make the fourth?
