Wink
Nickname for the new Imperial TIE.
I just call it the TIE Inquisitor. Sounds menacing.
Unless using both the Advanced and the Advanced Prototype in the same list, it'll be called an Advanced in my lists and even then, probably called the Inquisitor.

Tie Bananas....
As has been mentioned (and liked) already, TIE Advil.
Stems from the great and long discussion about whether or not the Adv. stood for Advanced or not.
Whatever the majority calls it will end up being the standard, so thanks for getting the ball rolling
It looks like TAP is the frontrunner, but I would have thought TIE Prototype would be most intuitive.
Is it really, though?
Are you going by the number of individual posts of the same name, or the number of likes?
Because it seems the TIE Advil has more likes ![]()

(...)Only problem is that mentioned earlier that it could be confused with the prototype pilot A-wing pilot. Still easier than TIE Advanced Prototype and won't be confused with TIE Advanced.(...)
People'll call it TAP. It's canonical name is TIE advanced v1, or TIE/v1 for short, much like its bigger brother. The problem with saying TIE/v1 is that it's ambigious: people don't know if you're talking about the ship or the title.
Speaking about ambigious: Rebel Wave8 PHANTOM vs Imp Tie PHANTOM. In future one has to clarify quite often...

Not really.
THE Phantom vs TIE Phantom.
That little three-letter word can't be that hard to use, can it?

But that shuttle is just a pretender to the throne, when you say phantom you mean tie phantom.
Just call it ( o )

Basic TIE Fighter is already called Eyeball.
Thematically, shouldn't it's nickname be Proto-Bright?
Bright-Zero?

Shuttle was built first though ![]()
Meh, I'll probably abbreviate it something like "TIE AdvPr", but I doubt the forums will settle on any nickname on the forums (e.g., one pilot is variously nicknamed "RAC", "Chirpy", "Cheery", "Cheerios", "the Rear Admiral", etc.). I wouldn't be surprised to hear people using a portmanteau like "protovanced" in speech, but not on the forums (too many letters!).
Now I already said that it is going to be called the TIE Obsdgjsdb
, the TIE Ovnasdhovnd
the TIE... hey SpikeSpiegel, what was the name again?

Yeah what he called it! ![]()
Okay well looks like there will be a couple of things for it. Jokes aside on forums abbreviations and acronyms are ever so popular (lol omg) as they are easier to type and if someone is familiar with the subject the message is received. So on the forums it will probably be called the TAP.
But in speaking terms I don't think anyone would call it out loud "playing a TAP". In polite conversation it will probably be called the TIE Inquisitor with the Pilot known as THE Inquisitor. So instead of hearing "4 TAP list lead by the Inquisitor" you would likely hear "3 TIE Inquisitors and THE Inquisitor".
