So TIE Advanced Prototype. That sounds like a mouthfull and calling it a TIE Prototype might get it confused with the prototype pilot from the A-wing. Still here are the options for nicknames I can think of.

1. TAP Well on the forums you might see this as common as acronyms tend to be easier to type so PTL and RAC are known as Push the Limits and Rear Adm. Cherenue. Even if this isn't the commonly accepted nicknam it will still be seen.
2. TIE Inquisitor named after the character that the ship came from calling it a TIE inquisitor seems much better than calling it the TIE Advanced Prototype also it sounds allot different than the TIE Advanced so no more confusion there. Only downside would be mistaken it for the pilot Inquisitor.
3. TIE Prototype So who here is big into middle names? Me neither, the only time you hear middle names is when someone is in trouble so court proceedings and grounding children. Other than that just drop it. Only problem is that mentioned earlier that it could be confused with the prototype pilot A-wing pilot. Still easier than TIE Advanced Prototype and won't be confused with TIE Advanced.

So what do you think would be the accepted name this new ship will be called?

People are obviously going to gravitate to TAP. Because whatever is shortest to type is what people are going to use.

Ad/p or AdP for Advanced Prototype.

Possibly even AP although that is already designated to Academy's.

But of the 3 you've suggested it would probably be TAP or TIE-P.

And If I'm feeling cheeky and pending future spoilers about them I may call them TIE-Po's.

People'll call it TAP. It's canonical name is TIE advanced v1, or TIE/v1 for short, much like its bigger brother. The problem with saying TIE/v1 is that it's ambigious: people don't know if you're talking about the ship or the title.
