Since TWO Ties can launch from the carrier at one time, I am thinking they wont just use maneuver templates off the front or rear posts! I am willing to bet they will BARREL ROLL off the corresponding side similar to how they launch in Rebels!!!

it's very plausible. That would certainly make more sense than off the aft (back) end of the ship.

Actually a pretty interesting solution that offers the ship something distinct compared to the ghost/phantom and Hound's Tooth/Pup.

It'd be cool if they could use either the 1 straight or the 1 bank forward/backward. A little more control over where the ship ends up the next turn.

It seems like a really interesting way to have a close fighter escort without needing to worry about getting run over by your own epic ship. And since epic ships move after small and large based ships, it could help for some really cool post phase maneuvering with the TIEs (assuming that the deployment rules work in a similar fashion to the Pup's deployment rules.)

For example, the Gonzati still has two additional Academy Pilots docked (Pilot Skill 1). The Imperial player can move their Gonzati, deploy their TIEs, and maneuver them outside of higher PS arcs.

I'm sure we can theory craft plenty of deploy upgrades. I'm sure they'll do at least one thing to improve on deployment mechanics that you can take for more points.

I really hope you can put any type of TIE on this thing. Can you imagine strolling up on someone and then dropping a Phantom (or two!) giving it a R1 attack!

My guess would be no. The trade off is they are protected by the ship while docked.

I wonder if the Cruiser can assign damage to a docked ship instead of itself?

Sacrificing a tie to stave off a roll of 2-3 crits might be worth it. Perhaps if the epic ship does a target lock, the fighters gain it as well? There are lots of neat options.

I was thinking this might be crit-related. Perhaps a face up damage could be "Destroy a docked ship, then flip this card face down" or "Deal a damage card to a docked ship and flip this card face down."

What benefit is there to having a docked ship over having that ship in the starting force?

I recently posted this idea in a different thread but I wonder if the Gozanti will eventually introduce a new element to the game: Reinforcements.

What are the chances we will see a new rule regarding reinforcements come into play soon? The Emperor might be a valuable crew member if reinforcements require a specific dice roll to activate. Additionally, TIEs might not be the only thing which the Gozanti can bring to the battlefield.

Picture this scenario game: There is a target which can only be destroyed by a torpedo. Empire player brings a TIE Bomber to carry some torps. If TIE Bomber is in starting force it can be targeted and destroyed giving the defender an easy victory. Alternatively, if docked it is 'immune' until it undocks or the Gozanti is destroyed. The Gozanti and escort can thin the defenders prior to the Bomber's introduction to the battlefield.

With the Gozanti's mechanic, you can also decide to have your TIEs enter the battlefield at the absolute last moment before combat begins, giving you the most Surprise in the game thus far.

It can lead to interesting formations and locations as well. For instance, try keeping 4 ties in formation while you fly an Epic Ship. That's tough, perhaps impossible with banks and such.
