Gozanti: How does it work?

By UnfairBanana, in X-Wing

Maybe I just missed something, because I haven't been able to watch the in-flight report, but did anyone actually say how the TIEs stick to this thing? I don't see any means of attachment, and I know they aren't just gonna start selling magnetic TIEs specifically for this (though, I'm sure some of us will remedy that)

So if it's not been said, why is no one asking this?
And if it has, FILL ME IN!

I think you would put them in upside down and use the peg holes for the flight stands.

The Hound's tooth has rules for deploying a ship. So most likely something similar to that.

But...and I'm just being overly picky here, that would be wrong...The pilots would either have no way to enter the fighter, or they'd be stuck in there throughout their entire magical space voyage! And those TIEs have pretty limited life support capabilities

...and if Wave 5 was anything to go by, they'd probably just fall right off!

This question relates more to the "How do they physically connect to the carrier" as opposed to rules for deployment.

Sorry for the confusion!

On the model in the display case, there was some sort of almost pear-shaped grippy bit holding on to either the ball cockpit or the peg (which wasn't visible to me).

I think you would put them in upside down and use the peg holes for the flight stands.

But...then they're upside down...and if Wave 5 was anything to go by, they'd probably just fall right off!

But, has it ever been an issue with small bases?

I have some ships (including small ships) which fit loosely onto their flights stands and others that fit very tightly.

But since the pegs were not visible, I think using the pegs (even if this does put them upside down) is the most plausible explanation.

It will probably help that the pegs will be surrounded by the extenstion. Giving it a bit of a tighter fit.

Every time I pull ships out for a list, I have to sift through my peg-bag to find ones that aren't super-tight, since I don't want to risk breaking a model (have bent X/B-wing lasers at least twice) trying to remove em.

I think TIEs will stay up just fine.

Funny you mention breaking a B-Wing that way, the same thing happened to me.

But how?

How? The force.

Fear will keep the fighters in place. Fear of this battlestation imperial assault carrier.

doesnt stick? add more fear.

Official FFG blue tack.

Or better buy several and glue a different amount of Ties on each ship to represent all the possibilities.

I'm bored , hence this worthless post.

The grey plastic in the preview has a kind of hook on one end and peg attachment on the other. Id imagine you turn the tie fighter upside down, put the grey plastic into the peg base, then clip it into the gozanti.

They just spacewalk back and forth. Much more exciting that way, especially in hyperspace or a firefight.

:D

The GenCon model had TIEs without pegs sticking out of the bottom. Therefore, they must have been upside down. Therefore, it's reasonable to assume that they attach using their stand pegs.

It looks like the TIE hoses cover up the guns so that they don't look upside down though.

It's a very complicated process.

Here's the best photo I could find from GenCon that pretty clearly shows they're upside down...

So the big question: What else can I dock to it!!!

I believe the ship card just said it could deploy ships?

Oh oh oh oh.... I wonder..... Can it dock more than just TIE Fighters?!?!?!

imagine 4x Royal Guard Pilots? Or 4 Lamba Shuttles hanging briskly, upside down?

I talked directly to FFG at the booth about it. The ties go in upside down and use the pegs they have to attach to the mounting points on the Gozanti. We had a conversation about it. FFG acknowledged that some may have an issue with the ties going in upside down because it's not completely correct, but using the mounting pegs was the only realistic option they had. Up close the ship looks great with the ties docked to it.
