this made me laugh.

Remember how GW made a big deal of being at gencon well they mucked it up big time the team meant to attend got to the states got grilled by immigration for eight hours then deported.

Apparently they had the wrong visas and one of them let slip they'd be working.

As a result you couldn't buy stuff from GW but you could buy it from other vendors at a hefty discount.

Forge world however had zero issues.

Wow. GW is just not catching a break.

Looks like GW will be getting rid of more staff, most likely the administrator visa filer that screwed the team up.

Given GWs mentality, it is more likely they would fire the guy who let slip they were working a convention instead.

They got Lucky and only got deported, they could have been at guantanamo right now...

What could have happened:

Custom official: Anything to declare? What do you have in that plastic case, sir?"

GW guy (with case full of models): "Some bolters, plamsa guns, volkite rifles"

TSA guy: "guns? rifles? And what are bolters?"

GW: "It's like a big ass submachine gun but it fires self-propelled rockets."

TSA: "STOP! ASUME THE POSITION!"

GW: "wha? da fuq? They aren't real guns! Look, they are solid plastic, less than an inch long!"

TSA: " HE'S CARRYING GUNS! TERRORIST!" *

Gw: "Auw! Quit hitting me! Is that mace? Aagh! Don't tase me bro!'

TSA: "QUIT RESISTING! QUIT RESISTING!"

* This actualy how these guys think: minature toy gun = real working firearm.

This is what happens when the people at Immigrations play warhammer, and you come to their country with that Age of Sigmar stuff . :D

GW guy: "Ok lads, we made it to the states, Mike, do you have the Age of sigmar fliers with you?"

TSA: "Age of sigmar? you get that crap out of mah country right now! Warhammer was awesome and you blew it up an' replaced it with spasmarines!"

GW: "B-b-but..."

TSA "OUT!!!"

Couldn't happen to a more deserving group of greedy reprobates.

I used to travel internationally frequently in a previous job. You have to have the right visa. The ramifications are worth more than the hassle of applying for the correct one. Some of the Asian countries can be a huge time commitment to get the visa (requiring letters of invitation from in-country businesses for example.) .. but if I tried to take a short cut and get in on a tourist visa and was declined .. the cost of lost business would far exceed the time I would have saved.

Maybe they couldn't afford $14 per person after paying out the dividends.
