Yes, too bad about EU basically becoming taboo. I wonder what will happen to Armada? RIP:

Good riddance, really. It's too bad they'd never be able to use the real version:
I actually kinda like the I-9.

I figure the missile boat is a unique title for the gunboat.
Y'know? I actually like this. Similar to the idea of the 'heavy' scyk - the implication being that it's a fundamentally different beast, but the models were close enough to get the point across.
The question then lies: What are the defining features of the Missile Boat vs the Gunboat? I mean, yes, missiles, but they both have those.
gotta say that since we've seen no sign of "new" ships in Episode 7 beyond variations on X Wings and TIE's I wouldn't count EU out for the count yet
I'm not counting out the EU (there's some ships I'd like to see), BUT there definitely are other ships coming in the next movie, and quite a few too. You may not see much more of them than you saw of the B-Wings in ROTJ, but they'll be there. If you check some of the larger rumours sites you'll find leaked concept art.
Dengar's ship is EU
Honestly i don't care about any of those ships. The assault gunboat least of all. It's an ugly design, doesnt fit the TIE theme FFG sticks to and has basically no role to fulfill for the imps.
If they still bring these ships i wouldnot be against them. But most of them are ugly, have barely any background (okay some of the existing ships are in the same case) and would not advance the game in any way on the game design side.
What is it with all these EU ships?! Not every ship needs Engine Upgrade! Boost isn't nearly as good as barrel roll for repositioning post maneuver. Ships with EU can't even take autothrusters, so why even bother?
Oh. Wait. You mean Extended Universe.
Sorry.
Oh well, at least wave 8 completes Shadows of the Empire. Yay mid 90s!
I will take the GAT-12 over the assault boat any day.
I'll take both, thanks. Both the GAT-12 Skipray Blastboat and the XG-1 have a huge niche available to them in Imperial lists, and the GAT-12 could easily be a Scum ship as well.
Good riddance, really. It's too bad they'd never be able to use the real version:
Biddybiddybiddy. Go get 'em, Buck.
Edited by FTS GeckoThe Skipray is really interesting territory. It's a large ship (25m), so it'd have proper space for both Imp and Scum pilots. It's also a really odd design (literally has no primary weapon), and is probably closest to the Firespray. Test stats:

And it's fugly...!
^this is also true, but after what FFG pulled with Mist Hunter, I think it's in the "not too fugly to save" zone.
Yes, too bad about EU basically becoming taboo. I wonder what will happen to Armada? RIP:
Become taboo? Jesus...it's been ONE WAVE. One wave that still has EU stuff in it!
And honestly, the Rebels stuff worries me way less than the Raider did. The idea that FFG would just start making up it's own ships in lieu of picking ships from the lore had me much more concerned.

Whoever works making the models for xwing in FFG must also be a cosmetic surgeon, because he / she has already done a couple of miracles with some ships...

They have wizards as model makers.
The Mist Hunter is awesome. It looks like a **** attack gunship in space. The Punishing one is kinda dumb IMO.

It is a hula-hoop with a dead-fish laying on top, and wobbling to the side.

The only good part about it is that it completes ALL of the original Bounty Hunters for the game... that IS cool.

Could be worse, could be a hamburger with a tomato protruding from the side

Skipray Blastboat:
- 0/2/4/6
- FOCUS, TARGET LOCK
- System, Cannon, Turret, Torpedo, Missile, Crew (MAYBE EPT, there is bar space, and I know some people would probably get out of shape if Mara didn't have one)
_/ /_ _/ /R _/R/W/R/_/_ W/W/G/W/W/_ _/W/G/W/_
I like what you've done there with the Skipray, however I'dchange one teeny tiny thing.
Flying out of left field with the "Primary Ion". 3 dice primary weapon which is also an ion weapon - if it hits, deal one damage and one ion token then cancel all dice results. And as a primary weapon it would receive/suffer from range bonuses.
Then yeah, turret upgrade (nice secondary source for the Twin Laser Turret maybe), some ordnance options and probably the systems slot.
I wouldn't worry too much about some of those ships not making it into X-Wing. Quite a few of them have been statted out for the Star Wars RPG. It wouldn't surprise me to see the ones they did for the RPGs to migrate to X-Wing in future waves.

I'm pretty sure the defining feature of the missileboat is "moar missiles." Perhaps a built in- Extra Munitions effect?
"Advanced Missile Boat" Gunboat only
Gain 2 torpedo slots
Any missile or torpedo you purchace gains 3 munition tokens.
Edited by RakaydosLet's see, what r the ships I would like to see...
Gunboat
Avenger
Missile boat
R-41
T-wing
Guri's Stinger (got all the other SotE ships)
Skipray
Lady Luck
Scimitar (bomber or Darth mauls ship, either one or both)
I-7 and A-9
Eta-2 and V-wing (and any other clone wars ships while you are at it)
Jabba's space cruiser
Wild Karde
TIE Aggressor (and maybe oppressor)
Um, yeah I guess that's pretty much it. This way FFG can keep this list to remind them NOT to make any of these.
I can't believe no one put up a picture of the Hornet Interceptor...that thing would look 'awesome' next to other scum ships.

I think the defining feature of the Missile Boat wasn't just "moar missiles", but "so many missiles even a Mon Calamari Cruise is so much space dust".
The Missile Boat had just one piddly laser cannon. Everything else was missile spam. Glorious, never-ending, fleet-anhillating missile spam. There's a reason it was left out of X-Wing vs Tie Fighter, and why it was referred to in the game files as the "King Hell God Emperor Starfighter of Death".
Oh, and it could SLAM as well.

I'd basically agree with primary ion, it's probably the only ship that actually has no alt laser to necessitate a wierd mechanic.
What I would change, though, is the 1hit1ion bit, instead:
Also, it'd keep the cannon slot, be able to run Tractor+Ion, and still have bar room for an EPT.

Lancer's too big and looks like a certain part of the male anatomy in a "state of activation". The Tartan Patrol Cruiser, the other candidate, is also too big.
That, and I'd take the Raider over the Lancer any day anyway.
The bottom of the EU barrel is still higher than the pit that is cartoon and sequel ships~
RIP in pieces:
You realize that second ship is showing up in Armada's Wave 2, right? It seems awfully likely that it will end up in X-Wing, too.
I'm so very, very happy that the Pursuer/Slave II will not make it to this game.
But I'm not sure we're done seeing EU ships. Scurrg/Havoc is still going into Armada, for who knows what reason. I'd wager S&V gets it for a bomber soon.
