Not sure if you guys have heard this but...

By cruiser2710, in Star Wars: Armada

So let me get this straight, -_-

X-wing is going to get docking/launching mechanics and actions but Armada won't?

FFG, we need to talk

I'm not sure that the Gozanti carrier has that much of a place in Armada. It seems to exist in order to carry a flight (= 1/4 of a squadron) into and out of hyperspace to a location that doesn't have a larger carrier or an Imperial garrison. Aside from the Raider, all of the Imperial ships have carrying capacity much greater than a Gozanti carrier.

BUT, that doesn't mean that I don't want it in Armada. I just think it's better suited for X-Wing epic.

Reading over the discussion on if each fighter base is a squadron/flight or what. I have been looking into real world squadrons some and there are lots of different sizes some as small as a single aircraft. So it could be carrying a full "squadron".

Yeah but I am not talking about the Gozanti carrier. The Star Destroyers had launch bays and in Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi we have seen ships deploy from the launch bays of star destroyers so it is known that well fighters can dock and launch at star destroyers.

It seems just like another mechanic that has been overlooked from Star Wars Armada. Along with droids, hyperdrives (yes I know there is a hyperspace assault but B-wings still have to deploy near a capital ship), planetary defenses and boarding. I know they could be considered just peripherals to the core big ship combat but still I think they are significant enough in the big ship combat to warrant some look into it.

As for the 6 turn limit, I just hope in future wave there would be a strategy card that could set up for an additional turn. Something like at the end of turn 6 roll a red die and if a crit appears leave the turn 6 token in play and play another round. Then end the game.

I say like ANY SMART PERSON IN HISTORY they simple deploy fighters BEFROE SHOOTING STARTS (A.K.A the game starts) makes perfect sense if you ask me...

And besides at least rebel fighters almost always hypersoaced in on their own power

Yes, because reserves and flanking attacks never happend: "Oh this might be the battle, better scramble everything we have, I am sure nothing can surprise us leavin us with tired pilots that are engaged elsewhere."

Well that kind of thing affects aircraft carriers that are way out of the battle in reality something that is "in a battle" will have all of its fighters scrambled because it is way to dangerous to launch and recover fightercraft during a battle except in extreme circumstances

Unlike Navy carriers from out planet. SW carriers are enclosed, and fighters just fly in and out of the hangar in a space that is deadly for any enemy crafts, because most carriers are also battleships/flak cruisers. So you point is invalid.
