Haven't read many of the books, but I'm on book two on the bounty hunter wars and dengar seems to know very well that he is outclassed and out skilled by boba fett.

And this is why I think instead of calling them Mary Sue's we, should call them Boba Fett's, because he out Mary Sue'ed every character in existence.

Boba fett was overhyped, he was never suppose to be a world class pilot. Dengar was an accompliced pilot but I agree a 9 is pretty high for him maybe 8 would of been better.

You could make an argument for him having learned from his dad, who was pretty good. Kenobi certainly hated flying but the Fett family had shown some prowess.

There's not much to support that Jango was that good. He couldn't take out Kenobi, and he never was commented on as being a good pilot. And as it is, Fett is a PS8, it's not like Dengar is 3-5 points better then Fett.

If PS was meant to be an accurate measure of piloting prowess, that would mean that this game considers Tarn Mison (a unique character with rather useful special ability) to be less skilled than a bunch of nameless Red Squadron Pilots who have no such special ability.

Some named characters are basically very minor in importance - Tarn Mison is one. Just because a character is unique - doesn't mean they're exceptionally talented.

They do consider Fett a better fighter on the ground, as Fett is far more powerful in Imperial Assault than Dengar.

You can have game balance and still respect the fluff. The game would be just as balanced if Dengar and Cobra where 8s instead of 9s.

What interest me the most is that the dial seems to have a White-Segnor-Loop 2 Maneuver. Make sense giving it a 2 because a 3 could have been green thanks to the astromech.

Engine Upgrade will be required for him. Otherwise, his statline places him up there with a VI Dash Rendar. Dengar with Lone Wolf, Recon Specialist, EU and Punishing One will be fiercely annoying, and that's without knowing what any of the other Wave 8 astromechs, crew members, EPTs or modifications add to the game.

Gunner will probably be less ideal for him. He shoots at PS9, so using Gunner early on his initial attack will prevent you from having it available during your defense.

Dengar is superb. I'm thinking lone wolf or PTL, weapons engineer, R4-B11 and EU. The weapons engineer and R4B11 combo will make him very difficult to put down.

Of course this could all change with the new upgrades to be released. It looks like there are 3 new salvaged mechs to be released in his expansion.

You may have meant this, but using Gunner on his own early attack prevents him from using the attack granted by his pilot ability at all.

ah, Dengar. At least you have an in-arc ability

Predator + glitterstim is one way to ensure constant mods on both attacks (and defense!) but stims only last a turn

recon + R4 aggro is another, especially against fellow PWTs

balanced:

focus on offense, acquire TL. Spend focus on agility, use TL for reactionary shot.

full offense:

focus on offense --> TL, TL + focus on reactionary shot --> reacquire TL).

Could still throw stims on top of that, in case you get blocked or don't want to focus (they see me rolling...)

We never seen Boba Fett in a dog fight at all. So as far as that goes, logically he should maybe be PS1 since the only thing we know he can do is follow the Falcon to Bespin.
