Is the inquisitor really dead?

By FlyingAnchors, in X-Wing Off-Topic

I knew someone who actually got upset when he was told that the Titanic sank at the end of the movie.

Or the story about someone surprised/upset they killed Abraham Lincoln at the end of the movie.

I love how Tarentino dealt with this in Inglorious Basterds.

Hitler really does die in that theater, because that's how movie logic and American historical memory would prefer it to happen

For those of us who know how history should, it works. And for those who don't, it also works.

They let him drop into a disintegrating reactor and then blew up the ship containing it. The Inquisitors demise is as much cinematic "Dropped a bridge on him" as it can get...!

;)

A better question would be what is going to happen to Sabine and Ezra. Losing both arms is going to make wielding a lightsaber kinda difficult. And Sabine turning to the Sith? I didn't think mandalorians really took sides when it came to the force. Either way, now that the Ghost is destroyed I'm pretty sure they are going to first have to find a new ship. And a new captain for that matter.

As the series aires a bit later in Europe I don't know if this is a joke or a spoiler. As my cable-opperator is going to ditch Disney I would like to know what happens in season 2. Could you Send a PM?

HEY! Don't freaking put spoilers in your title. Ass.

That was a joke.

My guess is the Inquisitor was actually a clone and there are multiples of him.

You can't clone jedi.

You can't clone jedi.

That's questionable.

There was clones of the Emperor, Luke, Galen Marek and Jorus C'baoth. True, most of those didn't go well, but that seems to be mostly due to accelerated growth and memory implants.

Now that's all EU stuff, so the canon is questionable, but I don't know of anything canon wise that says Jedi can't be cloned.

Why wouldn't the emperor make his storm troopers all force sensitive and pathologically loyal then a few thousand Jedi kept peace in the galaxy imagine what a few million could do he wouldn't have to tolerate the corporate sector or the hutts.

All clones made from Jedi have failed they go insane and wear out pretty fast because they can't handle the force the way a natural body can.

Perhaps it's more accurate to say you can't successfully clone a Jedi, of course it makes less sense why it fails because of parasites that shall not be named.

In reality with a blood transfusion anyone should become a force sensitive.

All clones made from Jedi have failed they go insane and wear out pretty fast because they can't handle the force the way a natural body can.

Sure but all the clones were also altered in some way or another. Luuke for example was subject to accelerated growth. So was the Starkiller clone, as well as implanted memories. But with Starkiller his issue seemed to be more about dealing with repressed memories then out and out madness.

So perhaps you could make a successful jedi clone if you didn't mess with it and let it grow up naturally.

I didn't think the Inquisitors are full-blown Jedi, but just force-sensitive.

His quote:

There are some things far more frightening than death.

Might be a reference to Vader or the Emperor. That he knew that if he goes down that this cell would get the attention of the Sith Lords themselves.

I didn't think the Inquisitors are full-blown Jedi, but just force-sensitive.

From the evidence of the one that we have:

One inquisitor is capable of going up against a former Padawan and his brand new trainee. Eventually that duo does manage to take out that one Inquisitor, but a) said former Padawan has definitely gotten stronger and b) it's entirely plausible that the Inquisitor simply didn't want to survive.

We also have no way to know if the Inquisitor we have seen is the best or worst of the lot.

It does seem plausible that your "average" Inquisitor is as capable as your "average" Jedi Knight. Maybe even a bit more so.

And, as Kanan was quick to point out: there is a whole other difference between an Inquisitor and a Sith Lord. If you earn the Darth title, you seem to be capable of living on pure hate, even when everything else suggests that your biology should just shut down. That suggests to me a degree of power that not even the Jedi Masters had acquired.

All of which is why it's a big deal that Qui Gon Jinn had managed to survive in Ghost form. He'd achieved something that the Jedi Masters had believed impossible, and did it in a way that the Sith were incapable of.

Well, a good number of Inquisitors are probably former Knights and Padawans.

Well, a good number of Inquisitors are probably former Knights and Padawans.

I suddenly want very badly to read those stories. I'm not sure about "a good number", but probably a couple yeah.

It's just the timeline. Even if most Inquisitors are 20-30 at the time of Rebels, it means they were 5-10 at the end of the Republic. So, either they are kids that the Jedi missed, or they came from outside the Republic. Sure, there are other Force groups outside the Jedi, but it is still a question of when Palpatine found them.

Even the Jedi kids that he had on Mustafar in The Clone Wars would only be about Ezra's age. I mean, it stands to reason Barris and Krell weren't the only Jedi to fall to the Dark Side. So, I imagine Palpatine had a nice prison to find recruits.

Calling names is uncalled for.

Ah, I am sorry, I thought you guys across the pond were done with season 1... I will take that into consideration next time, and change the title.

Actually Galen Marek is Canon...

It hasn't been recanonized. And from what I've heard, they are quite willing to toss out TFU.

Actually Galen Marek is Canon...

The last I checked TFU was not one of the movies or TV shows listed as being canon. So it is at best questionable if it's canon or not. Considering the events of Rebels so far, it seems unlikely it will become canon either.

uh, Force Ghost. Duh. Why is it that only "good" guys get to be ghosts? The Force doesn't take sides, it simply has them

The explanation for that is basically the point of the Prequel trilogies, and it's made explicit in the final Yoda arc of Clone Wars.

Unfortunately that was from Yodas point of view, and his point of view is flawed, how can he deny Sith Spirits are real when he goes to a place that has many Intelligent Hauntings?

Yuuup. I would count on it being primary canon since they keep referencing material from both SWTFU stories. The coolest thing so far being the Shadow Guard. The guys with the Lightsabre Lances.

So funny thing about starkiller. He might have just been confirmed as movie canon.... at least some version of it.

Some Rogue One rumors:

Mads Mikkelsen, who is playing a mystery role on Rogue One, just signed a fan poster with this:

Will he be called 'starkiller'? who knows. Will he be uber powerful? probably not. But I think the evidence is sufficient to say that some version of him will show up.
