[WAVE 8] What We Know (and how we know it)

By Tipperary, in X-Wing

Some card artwork form the Punishing One expansion pack is the same as a card from the new Armada expansion pack. While we don't know what the card does, we can see what the art on it is now. Note the card next to the plasma torpedoes upgrade.

"Rage" looks legit.

Probably another badass 1 point elite card, but it'll be a "one & done" deally.

it could also be one of the fabled 0-point epts

in order for those not to be immediately auto-include, they're going to have to have some sort of drawback

Rage being what it is, I'd guess it's going to imitate a frenzy effect (hit harder, but always target the nearest enemy) which is powerful but gives your enemy something to play around

Rage could be

"Cannot maintain more than one target-lock

Once per round, if you are attacked, you must immediately acquire a target-lock on the attacking ship.

If you could target a target-locked ship with an attack, you cannot attack any other target."

I'm thinking Rage will be more along the lines of providing stress. Just seems... Rage-ish. Maybe something like "When an attack does 2 or more damage to your ship, immediately receive 1 stress token. Then, increase your attack value by 1."

I also think two of the cards are: Overcharged Aggression

They are not. The "Agr..." is quite clear. Aggression has 2 Gs as you have spelled it, not 1 G as is on the card.

There are very few words in English starting with AGR, and most of them are some variation on the agri or agro prefix used to denote agricultural things. So it is either Agromech or some made up Star Wars "Agr..." word, almost certainly agromech due to the Punishing One's agromech slot.

Did I miss the fawning over the white left s-loop? That it looks like the Punishing One has?

Yes haha.

Ghost preview stuff added. I for one welcome our newly Reinforced Palpmobile overlords.

In that case, I look forward to using more Plasma Torpedoes.

Drea Renthal, Plasma torpedoes, Extra Munitions, Unhinged Astromech. :D

Deathrain Proton Bombs and Advanced Homers. Munitions are relevant! Yay!

Drat. I didn't realize that Reinforced Deflectors sticks around. For some reason I thought it was a 1-time upgrade that you discard when you use it.

Initiative becomes really important because Reinforced Deflectors and Plasma Torpedoes have the same timing for recovering/removing shields. As the Plasma Torpedo carrier, you want to make sure your opponent has initiative so that the Deflectors act first, followed by the Torpedoes. Otherwise, if you strip all the shields, the Plasma Torps do nothing and then Reinforced Deflectors kicks in and adds a shield.

Do we know what that is???

I'm not sure we have the technical info on what exactly it's called, but it's a special arc that can only be used when the Phantom's docked with it.

Ya I get the arc, but I was more interested in the symbol inside that arc. Or are you suggesting that symbol means "this is your special arc"

Someone in another thread said it was a Torpedo symbol. Torps out the rear arc??

are you suggesting that symbol means "this is your special arc"

This. It's definitely not a torp symbol (since when did the Ghost even have torps, much less rear launchers?)

Ghost has 2 torp slots (according to your original post anyways.... This could give it more of a punch out the rear arc while Phantom is undocked..

This view any better? I know I want to see torp symbol :D :

Ah, I think you mean fluff-wise? Only seen a few episodes so can't comment there..

Yep.

Well it's got torpedo slots because every giant pancake ship needs ordnance tubes that they won't use.

It's most likely a 'special arc' symbol that differentiates this arc from the auxilary arcs on other ships. To me it looks like a PWT symbol, weird.

It's got two torpedo slots so that Sabine can shoot bombs out of one and have the other for Extra Munitions. For more bombs.

^and I guess per the latest episode.

T-70 and TIE/fo stuff updated, TIE/fo is [COMPLETE!].

Yesssss. We are getting closer!

not only complete, but pretty **** good :D

the FO started as a "I don't even know what" ship next to the standard Fighter, and now I'm very happy to see it become sharply distinguished as its own class of fighter.

Ghost updated, missing:

  • PS3 Lothal... generic
  • Thermal Detonators text (card and bomb effect card, assuming it works as usual)
  • specific rear arc rules (it's for torps apparently, even without the title)

"Computer" is too long if the first word is "Guidance". [T] for Torpedo, [M] for Missile, [E] for Eye, [H] for Hit. Last sentence is a pretty big guess, but it's the first thing I could think of to combine "primary" and '"0"'.

Guidance

Computer

Modification.

When attacking with a [T] or

[M] secondary weapon, you

may change an [E] result to a

[H] result. {After attacking, set

your primary weapon value to

"0" this round.}

or

When attacking with a [T] or

[M] secondary weapon, you

may change all [E] results to

[H] results. {Then reduce

your primary weapon value to

"0" this round.}

Also (a little iffy after "equipped" since the lines don't quite, well, line up):

Attanni

Mindlink

Each time this ship performs

a focus or evade action,

each other friendly ship that has

Attanni Mindlink equipped may

be assigned the same type

of token, then receive a

stress token.

For Guidance Comp, there's no way to tell if it would change eyeballs or blanks, right? The spacing is the same?

The <focus> symbol should be slightly shorter than the word "blank", no?

Also it's "Guidance Chips", as per an Alex Davy interview.

Very neat OP you have there. I just wanted to know, what the hell is going on with that 4 straight being white on the official dial but green on the first picture we had ?
