Someone posted this in one of the other threads, and somebody else confirmed they're HKs
To me this is the biggest thing of GenCon. Not only are HKs super awesome, but they're also four thousand years old! Should we now be expecting other Old Republic era stuff in FFG's Star Wars minis games? Ebon Hawk? Interdictors? Basilisks? Reven?! What's going on?
Is there some EU source for Rebellion era droids based on that design?
How is nobody talking about the HK50s
Star Wars Galaxies (which takes place during the Galactic Civil War) had HK-47's AI aboard a ship that crashed on Mustafar. He ends up gaining control of a droid factory there and creating a droid army, but if I recall correctly, he only droids from the Clone Wars era except for his own body.
As dissapointed I am about Hoth, the fact that we are seeing clearly EU things means that we will be seeing Legend material. Take that naysayers!
That is pretty cool. I could've sworn I've seen the HK droids before in FFG Star Wars. Maybe the card game? I do think they should have gone with maybe HK-55 or something, given that HK-51 is the most 'recent' version in The Old Republic MMO.
(Interdictors aren't Old Republic btw, they've been around for years and officially entered the new canon in the Tarkin novel).

Aaah, that explains it! Well, I'm guessing there's a unique card for him and generics for mass produced versions (they'll just have to assume he did make some). So what colour schemes? Obviously I'll be painting one red as HK 47, should the rest be grey like HK 50s?
Was T3-M4's personality there too? It'd be great to have an evil alternative to C3-P0 and R2-D2 (I know T3 wasn't evil, but still...)

We don't get HK-47 in this expansion, all 4 of those droids are generic HK-50. I agree though that HK-50 is pretty old considering that is the model you fight in KoTOR 2, you'd think after 4000 years they'd be using newer models.
As for T3 in Star Wars Galaxies, no I don't think think he was in there.

Different ships with the same name. I'm talking about these

Well now I'm confusedl. Are they modern built HKs or 4000 year old ones? And how could they not include HK 47?! That'd be like having Astromechs but no R2!
Most likely they are modern built, I doubt a droid body could last 4000 years. As for no HK-47, that answer is simple. They'll use him as a hook in a small box expansion and have you buy his villian pack.

Well yeah, thats the obvious answer, but you'd think if there was going to be a token version of him it'd be in the same pack as the 50s. Well, maybe not I suppose.
Any pictures of the cards for the 50s? If they're true to KotoR 2 they should be pretty tough - when you first encounter them in that game they're quite the challenge, and you're a Jedi, from a time of powerful Jedi (which they're designed to kill).
Edited by mazz0TOR has a ship full of inactive HK-51s buried on Hoth in it. Just a thought.

Does it indeed? That explains the link to Hoth then. Let's hope they consider what happened in Galaxies just as canon/legend though, I still want 47!

Yep. Here's an image of deactivated HKs on Hoth:

It's probably just the lighting, but doesn't the one near the middle of the left Group look to have a red tinge?
Wait, does TOR have TWO buried ships of HK droids. The main one was definitely on Belsavis (pretty sure that's where the picture comes from) and I don't remember one on Hoth (if I've forgotten it please remind me of what storyline it appears in).
Secondly HK's aren't necessarily descended from 47. The KOTOR comic series (the one following Zayne Carrick) had HK-24's made by Adascorp.
Thirdly I suspect the Galaxies novel is on a lower cannon level than legends as it predates TOR in which HK-47 appears and is destroyed (three times admittedly which puts some doubt in the theory but not enough imo).
I doubt that these will be 50s (if anyone can confirm they were please prove me wrong) and I doubt they'll be linked to 47 (especially as they're probably added to give IG-88 some company). I might be wrong but I feel like it adds more lore intricacies than FFG want to deal with.

They'll certainly be linked the 47 when I play them! ![]()
The back of the box only says HK assassin droid. My guess is they'll look just like the HK 50s but their model number will be unspecified.
Exclamation: the inclusion of the HK droids is a phenomenal design choice!
Query: Did we allow the meatbags a choice?

Affirmation: it certainly is.
With four of them in the box, I'm guessing they'll be deployed in groups of two, which seems slightly odd to me. Still, I'm excited to see how they play. I have to assume they'll just be a utility piece, like 3PO or R2, not really focused on killing things, since HKs are interpreter doids. ![]()

That's the one, cheers!
It's probably the same assassin droid that's statted in EotE and AoR, but we don't get pictures there.
Edit- Good grief! I was looking over the EotE beginner game which I'm running for a new grip and he's pictured in there. Probably what I was remembering in the first place.

Agreement: I am sure their in game abilities will be well suited to their purpose of facilitating communications and ending hostilities.
Commentary: The number four does seem odd, given HK-50 units appeared in groups of three in Knights of the Old Republic 2.

Correction: The number four does seem to be even.
Advocation: The four models could also be split over four deployment cards. Additionally, a new precedent could be set for having the elite contain one model and the grey containing 2 or 3.

That, I like a lot.
