Agent Kallus

So… I think I must be mis– understanding something...

It was my impression that the word "you" on card text referred to the ship the card was equipped to. Is this not correct?

Going from the write– up for Agent Kallus:

the preview spoiler article seems to suggest you pick a ship at the start of the game, and then all your ships (not just the one Kallus is equipped to) get that bonus. I'm not completely current on all the latest updates to the game, but has something changed where "you" is no longer defined as what it once was?

I went back and reread the article and really paid attention to the wording and it's not very definitive either way. I would personally go with the usual understanding of "you" on an ability.

"You" always refers to the ship to which a card is equipped. Otherwise, it would read something like "When a friendly ship is attacking or defending against that ship...."

I'm not sure what gives you that impression. You pick a target at the start of the game and the ship agent Kallus is on gets bonuses when engaging that ship. what suggests otherwise?

Everyone complaining about the 2-ship meta should be very happy.

^ agree

Nevermind! I see you're referring to someone else.

Well it looks like FFG heard all the complaints about dual pancakes. However it's prbly a slight boost to imperial 2 ship builds. Would he be good on a phantom?

Except that this card works best in a two ship list.

I think he'll be a great choice on either a Phantom or a Firespray. Those are the two Imperial ships with crew slots that can benefit most from a free psuedo-focus on both offense and defense.

*I can't read. Move along!*

On echo with SJ and Lone Wolf. Ugh can you imagine trying to kill it?

Not that good, imo.

First rd only. Unless you fly as fast as you can, and the enemy doesn't camp their back edge.... You'll get nothing from it.

Am I missing something?

It lasts the whole game.

You didnt actually think it was just for one round?

no range on it, you just choose

Gunna put him on a firespray with Lone Wolf. yum.

Or Kenkirk maybe.

FFG art treatment has turned Kallus from a stylised cartoon character into a total badass.

Kallus and Palpatine on a Decimator? Maybe? {Edit} hmmm or with Vader

I think atm Echo is probably the best driver for Kallus. I just worked up a nice four ship list including them.

Echo(30)+Kallus(2)+Lone Wolf(2)+ACD(4)=38

Juno(28)+Outmaneuver(3)+Adv X1(0)+Accuracy Corrector(0)=31

Backstabber(16)

Night Beast(15)

Yea...last things phantoms need is more help on defense and offense...

Yea...last things phantoms need is more help on defense and offense...

That is exactly what they need given Hans dominance. It doesn't help them that much against multi ship lists but against the currant Turret plus filler lists that are dominating the meta its a godsend.

make no mistake, I think Kallus is a great card

problem is, I see his ass being shoved into kenkirk and being left there to rot as yet another PWT + arc-dodger (probably the inquisitor this time) build

It will happen but there has been so much introduced lately that seems tailored specifically to take down big expensive lists that there will be a definite shift in the meta.

I don't know about this. What are you taking off? Captive, Gunner, Isard? Defensively, he would work on at best 75% of Kirk's HP, and only 25% of those rolls are expected to roll an eye. The Firespray is at least rolling more dice, from turn 1.

A Kath + Lone Wolf + Kallus is 42 points, **** tough, and it doesn't really need anything else to be good. Less flexible than RecSpec, but way more effective against super-ship builds. You'd get to re-roll a blank, turn an eye into something good, and use your action to Evade. High probability of 3 damage blocked, and it's action-independent.
