Glad I only ever bought four TIE Fighters now.

Also, RAC gets his own crew card

So here is the question I have about the Gozanti: Can it carry ANY type of TIE?

Too large for the game’s Standard Play format, the Gozanti-class cruiser nonetheless enters X-Wing as a huge-base ship sculpted at the game’s standard 1/270 scale. Accordingly, it towers over the game’s small and large ships, even as it can carry and deploy up to four TIEs from its signature docking clamps.

Since thematically the docked fighters need to be able to dock upright only, the Tie Defender would be OUT as its upper wing is in the way. Otherwise, I am hoping they eventually allow Tie Ints, Adv and so forth. Currently all we know for sure are Ties...

True, all we know for certain is the TIE FIghter, but I can't find a single article that says anything other than TIE when it mentions what kind of escorts this ship can carry. The idea of this big tank taking fragile Interceptors of Phantoms right were they need to be (protecting them on the approach) excites me!

Well, on the model, it appears you attach them upside down. Though, some models may provide issues.

If it can carry Defenders the awkward way that FFG wrote the Nashtah Pup deployment steps makes a lot of sense. If those same deployment steps are being used for the Gozanti and the Ghost (but with different triggers for deployment) then it is an elegant way of ensuring that whatever is being deployed can't be deployed facing back at the ship it came from.

This looks very interesting.

Fourth quarter 2015 isn't too far off!

My 6 TIEs will become 8.

So, the Gozanti Cruiser has no main weapons and only has one Hardpoint? So, it can only get one weapon on it's own? That's kind of annoying. I guess you really need the Tie Fighters to give it some teeth! Either that or take the Ion Battery each time.

When I look at Scourge, I have to just see how much stuff FFG is putting out there that can take down big targets. I mean, Scourge, the tracking missile that gives TL's. Agent Kallus. All the ordnance and mines. FFG is putting a lot of tools into the hands of players to take down fat turrets. I'm loving it!

It's not exactly the most armed ship.

I'm more interested in putting this guy in a TIE Phantom

Its brutally effective and lore fitting, I like it!

Pretty much in love with Agent Kallus. I'm also now itching to try:

Howlrunner, VI

Mauler Mithel, VI

Scourge, VI

It's the miniswarm that shoots first!

...oh, I am in love.

I love that they scaled it so you can actually attach the TIE fighters to it. That's sheer genius, and it makes me very happy.

I love that crew upgrade. I love even more the 'at the start of the first activation phase' rule; I sincerely hope that crops up on a couple bounty-hunting upgrades for Scum one day too. In the meantime, Phantoms are happy, and possibly imperial Firesprays, too. 35 points for a BH that can auto-luke and semi-chirpy against a hostile Falcon? Goodness me, yes , I think they might just be happy after all.

My only great hope is we get a couple solid 15 & 16pt TIE aces, so there's stuff worthwhile to throw into an 8-TIE swarm fleet... because I'm gonna be flying 8 TIEs at long last. Always did mean to try that archetype - hopefully the extra aces to come include a couple pilots good enough to mix it up with the generics. It's been a long time since wave 1, after all. :D

Very interesting ship, though I can only get this or the Raider and I'm debating which one to get.

Edit: Move along.

So, functionally, what is the advantage to docking your TIEs? Not sure why it would ever be advantageous to have your ships doxked rather than fighting. The Phantom becomes two extra attacks while docked. Why would I dock my TIEs? Discounted squad points maybe? I can't think of another good reason.

Maybe they can repair while docked? e.g. at the end of the combat phase, docked TIEs have their hull restored to their printed values. It would be unbalanced for e.g. bombers, but it could probably work for regular tie fighters depending on how the docking is implemented.
