Tactically I can't imagine a situation in X-wing where I would want TIE's attached.
First photo of Wave 8 from GenCon floor
I aactually met the manager in charge of sculpts at FFG while standing in line yesterday. He also does some 3D modeling himself. Really nice guy. I let him know the X-Wing sculpts always look fantastic.

Surprise attack scenarios!

When its destroyed it launches 4 TIEs for a nominal cost? They can recover hull when attached? Repair with energy?
It looks cool and intimidating?
Those look like regular (non-Rebels) TIE Fighters.
And that Carrier looks so nice! Wow!!
Rest of it looks wonderful, too
Hand up who needs more TIE Fighters? Noone? Exactly...
Danthrax - awesome pics -- thank you for letting us at home know and see how things are going there -- really appreciated!

I only have 6, so I am down for 2 more. Of course, I also currently have 8 Interceptors, so the #s don't necessarily bother me...

NOT the question. It's a question of WANT

(Raises Hand) ... umm ... yep, I could use two more ...
I hate thatr part of their packaging strategy... 90% of the ppl buy the amount of fighters when they are out. So all the packs where you get additional old fighter are wasted money (production and spending wise).
Glad I have six TIEs now.
Yeah like with everything else we've had via FFG, the ships and card art will be in their normal style. So say the Hera pilot card for the Ghost won't look like she does on Rebels, she'll look 'real'.
Same with the ship sculpts and paint jobs.
Also yeah I only have 6 TIEs so I want them. Plus we'll most likely get new pilot cards for them so...yeah I'm in.

How the hell are they getting those TIE Fighters to stick in place like that?
I mean, it simplifies the storage/display requirements for the ship - you can smack up to four fighters right into the base of it, but...
How...???

Presuming they are covered by the Gozanti's shield? Or - even better - cannot be directly attacked until they detach?
That's an *easy* answer, then - getting Howlrunner past the initial joust, alive and undamaged.
Does it look like the TIE models have to mount with their ventral peg slots facing up? So basically ... they are BATS!?
Here's some more pics from the Dice Tower

Looks to me like they're hanging upside down, with the mount post for the poles up in the docking tube-thing.
We'll be getting new TIE Fighter pilot cards with it, yep. Should be neat to finally get new ones.

They know everyone has 2 TIEs already from the base set, and it's safe to say Imperial players have a 3rd for Howlrunner. Buying this would bring a presumed total collection to 5. Since it can only hold 4, one of the two that comes with it should come painted like Sabine's.

You have some evidence to back that up, I assume. Because if you don't, it's wild and silly speculation.

Yup. If the docking works like the Nashtah Pup, it'll also give you a lot of flexibility in deploying them. So the Gozanti zooms up, protecting its cargo of TIEs through the initial merge, then drops them right where your opponent doesn't want to see them...
If you have 40-60 points not involved in the initial joust then it won't matter if Howl is undamaged.

maybe there's a cost discount for having them docked, kinda like the Nashtah Pup only costs 6

"Shall we deploy the TIE's, sir?"
"No, they were given to us at a discount. It's only fair that we wait to deploy them until the battle is basically decided."

Whats silly is to call someone silly for his opinion. At least i didnt insult anyone ;-)
Its just a bet i would take if someone could provide me with statistics. Of course they arent available, its still what i guess despite a few ppl saying otherwise here.
