Calling it,
2nd Ed Starter Set
New X-wing
New TIE-Fighter
Most interesting thing from in-flight report: Episode VII stuff before Wave 8
SWX35: Imperial Assault Carrier
SWX36: ........?
SWX37: ........?
SWX38: ........?
SWX39: Ghost
SWX40: Inquisitor's TIE
SWX41: Mist Hunter
SWX42: Punishing One
...so three new "Episode VII"-related X-Wing products.
If they were going to do a new starter pack, it'd be one of the release numbers. So to buy into the hype, it'd be one for the set, then maybe one for the new X-Wing, and one for the new TIE fighter, each released as Wave I (Part 2) add-ons.
Agreed.
And if the starter set has new models, they need to be able to be purchased individually as well...
I ran out of Likes for the day, but I think these three figured it out.
Look at it! Doesn't it just...POP... Buddy TIE?
I'm not your TIE, buddy!

One for the starter set
One for the Millenium Falcon
One for something new? (or they could just mix and match with First Order normal/special Ties)
It's definitely a core set with separate expansions for the two ships. T-70 is slightly cheaper, Special Tie more expensive, maybe it's a symmetrical Core Set.
Edited by chilligan2 ships? But we have 3 factions and a Vaksai art for Alex Davy's article.

But it kinda breaks the balance, unless they are on the same power level. Or is the Vaksai cheaper than the Kiraxhz?
We also have only 3 product codes. It could work if the Vaksai was just a new sculpt of the Kiraxhz, then it doesn't need another expansion pack, it just gets new pilots.
When's the earliest they will reveal this Episode 7 stuff? I mean, I know there are spoilers, but at least some of the ships have already been officially spoiled in the official trailers.
It's all about the da-mouse... and keepin clean da-house!

Even our FFG Brothers do not dare go showing off E7 models... UNTILS.

And I'd bet they will be ON SALE on sept 4; not just revealed.
Depends on how Ep7 itself is structured.
If there's someone on one faction we are meant to think is on another, it may be late December before we can buy toys.

September 4th is the 'toy day'. Everyone gets to announce their Episode VII products at that point, I am reasonably sure that's the day FFG will announce theirs.
Hm. Episode 7 stuff coming directly after Wave 7 is going to cause a lot of chaos for a long time to come, isn't it? ![]()
A new starter kit would work well, methinks. Bonus points: Make the T70 a separate-but-similar ship (Perhaps a slightly zoomier model, given the movies?) which is deliberately priced to include the new X-wing balance patch... and chuck a bunch in each box.
Et voila: You've got an X-wing patch that didn't, actually, come with yet another duplicate X-wing, in a game where so many players already have 4-5 each.
It's... it's beautiful.

This will be a GLORIOUS Friday afternoon!
I'm hoping for a Star Wars themed revision of Twilight Imperium as well....................
If the episode 7 stuff comes in a new starter, I hope FFG will offer the ships and cards seperate so the people that have been supporting the game since day 1 and don't need a starter set can get them. But I don't think FFG will do that.
What are the odds of Wave 7 getting here before September 4th?

If they are missing 3 SKU's then it would make sense that they would be releasing a starter with one rebel and one to two imperial ships and then releasing two individual packs containing those fighters. Similar to the X wing and Tie packs with the original release.

Yeah, I really just don't see the 'another starter' cry. FFG didn't do it with Scum, why would they do it, here? "But people who want Episode VII will want to buy one thing!" No they won't, are you crazy? And it's not like regular X-Wings and TIE Fighters don't still appear in the movie (granted, usually as wrecks, but they are still there). And don't you think FFG would rather sell such people *two* things, as opposed to one?
Remember that the starter kit is a borderline loss-leader for FFG...it's why you could find it as cheap as $7 at target. They don't make much, if any, money on that kit so much as it gets people buying their OTHER stuff. Making another starter makes no sense at all.
So...my guess for these three SKUs?
SW36 - 'Force Awakens' pack (like 'Most Wanted' - brings us the T-70 X-Wing and 2x First Order TIE Fighter repaints, along with a base tile/pilot cards for the Falcon's new pilots and BB-8 and such)
SW37 - Standalone T-70 retail kit (more new pilots, EPTs, new astromechs, etc)
SW38 - Standalone First Order TIE Fighter repaint retail kit (more new pilots, EPTs, etc)
Team Covenant has the full In-Flight Report video up. During the Q&A he said 2-3 weeks for wave 7 and Raider release.
Nice!
The whole Q&A is definitely worth watching. Getting their perspective on player concerns is a helpful thing.
Awesome, thanks!
And, yeah, at 42:12, you can very clearly hear him say they have Episode VII 'product on the water'!
Yea. So I'm curious about how to quickly acquire it. Are they announcing it 9/4 and it's ready and shipped already? Are they looking to get it out next week. FLGS isn't a midnight-release kind of place.
If stores have it in stock we'll start getting spoils the second they get their hands on them.
So without watching the video, does he actually say it's product for x-wing, or just product? Since they do have multiple sw games that it could apply to besides x-wing, or could even be some new game for the movie.

It's brought up during the X-Wing reveals, but it never mentions X-Wing specifically, just "the factory".

He doesn't say, specifically.
However, 'product on the water' NOW means something that arrives between waves 7 and 8 of X-Wing. And then we've got those three skipped X-Wing product codes between waves 7 and 8, so...
2 + 2 = ?
So, if they bring in First Order and Resistance, will First Order be synonymous and usable in comjuction with the existing Imperial and the Resistance with the existing Rebels. They wouldn't release them as two new separate factions, would they?
If they made Ep 7 stuff for other games but not their best-selling game it would be a little surprising.
