Imperial Assault: Return to Hoth

By patox, in Star Wars: Imperial Assault

this looks to be a very exciting release

now i desperately want a Bossk to complete the original 4 bounty hunters from ESB. I've refused to paint any of my trandoshan hunters in bossk's standard yellow jump suit because i know he's due to be released eventually

Original 4? What happened to Zuckuss and 4-LOM? No love for those weirdos? Haha. I want all 6!

huh, interesting; i only ever recall seeing the 4 on board.

so which name fits the final 2 guys on the right?

as in, which one is 4-LOM and which one is Zuckuss?

Zuckuss is the shortest one (right-most) and 4-Lom is the one between him and Bossk.

Also: I don't care what the lady front and center on the box cover's official name is, I'm calling her Rule 63 Star Lord. :D

She's Mal(ary?) Reynolds to me.

I wonder what the plot of this campaign is. The rebels forgot their dry cleaning back at Echo base and have to go pick it up? But Sorin is there with his fancy new tank and his HK droids?

It says in the pic on the back of the box.

You mean he's right?!

I'm excite for this. I REALLY want to see ATATs and very large maps, recreating the Hoth attack from Empire Strike Back.

Pretty sure we won't see ATATs in Imperial Assault. They are just too big.

Looks like the Snowtroopers don't have 'Habitat: Snow' after all.

The hero Loku Kanola sounds interesting with his recon tokens. Between that and the mechanic from Twin Shadows it sounds like we will be getting a lot of varied heroes.

We are also getting 4 player skirmish rules but the best news to me is that the expansion has 37 new double sided tiles.

Skirmish Leia looks great!

Dengar has a second Deployment Card for Empire?!?

I think my IG-88 just fell in love with General Sorin's abilitys. Surge: Fokus for all of IG-88's attacks!

For the same reason he must be the best friend of General Weiss.

This sentence is cool: "experience massive, multi-fronted skirmishes with up to three opponents!"

Yeah, 4-player skirmish. Dengar looks interesting by giving out a harmful condition of your choice.

:D :D

This changes everything for me.

We usually play campaign but this will get me back into skirmish.

I'm confused by the wording... 4-player skirmish with up to three opponents. I'm assuming the three opponents are relative to whoever is reading the sentence, making a total of four people, but with only 3 factions, doesn't 3-player skirmish make more sense? And you could certainly refer to all players as being 'opponents'.

Bah, no spoiler of the HK card!

Bah, no spoiler of the HK card!

Between that and the class cards. I'm really interested in these recon tokens. Even if I do play the righteous empire.

So Dengar and Sorin look pretty strong to me. As mentioned above, Dengar can choose a harmful condition to inflict. And Sorin is another Imperial Officer with command abilities. He can give an adjacent figure an attack with Blast 1, pretty strong. And his command card is visible, which lets him choose 3 adjacent figures (vehicles, droids, or heavy weapons specifically) ALL interrupt to perform attacks. Pretty powerful.

Has anyone seen the full deployment card for the Repulsor tank?

Salcor

+2 accuracy

~:+2 damage

~:?(Want to think it'd be blast but blast + special below + new general's special makes this unlikely to me. Stun or Peirce maybe?)

Double special action: Focused Fire: Perform 2 attacks against the same figure.

Defensible: When defending, you may add either 1(3? Can't quite tell) block or 1 evade to your [roll/dice] results.

Bottom of card is hidden completely so guessing time...

10 hp, 1 black defense die and probably 3 attack dice(blue and 2 green).

Extremely excited with this announcement (but my wallet isn't).

Next expansion: Cloud City please! (with Lando, Lobot, Zuckuss and 4-LOM as ally packs.....it seems we'll get a Bounty Hunter in every wave so far....).

I'm very happy about this!

I like how the SC repulsor tank looks like a mini rig version of the IFT-T saber tank.

But I'm most pleased with the wampas! If only for this: The first expansion had a Tusken Raider on a Bantha, this one has the Wampa. So the chances of getting a Rancor in the 3d expansion seem pretty good!

Just Tusken Raiders in Twin Suns. The Bantha Rider is a Wave 4 villain pack. Still a ways off, which is upsetting because its the figure I want most after Boba Fett. I NEED it!
