No. You have to look at Descent to compare. A big box is a full campaign. While there will still be less figures than the base game, it will still have more content than Twin Suns.
Yeah in the inflight they said the campaign would be a full blown one, the same size as the one that comes with the core. Opposed to the Twin Suns which is a mini-campaign I guess only 5 missions.

It's fairly obvious that they are staggering the release of characters. If they released all the important characters up front it would be harder to generate excitement down the line.
Likewise, the bounty hunters are the most recognizable scum characters from the OT, so it make since to stagger their release as well so that they have named scum characters for upcoming waves

Ah, did I misshear? So the campaign will be as big, but we shouldn't expect as many models, or board pieces (or price)?

Know what I like? Some companies would have made sure they got an absolutely perfect model to show of, even if it wasn't representative of what customers should expect, but not FFG, they're happy to show us with with a massively bent cannon!
