What does Greedo fly?

By mazz0, in X-Wing

So, I just asked a colleague who doesn't play the game (and isn't particularly into Star Wars) what he thinks will be in Wave VIII (he asked me a stupid work-related question and I wanted to make clear how little I cared), and he said "The green guy from the start who gets shot". He means Greedo. So, I thought, he could be right. What's Greedo's ship look like?

1. If i had to wookiepedia it, it propably means : unknown.

2. Wookied it, yeap unknown.

(of course if you mean his personal ship)

He didn't really have one.

He flies out an airlock without a space suit.

Sort of like a space version of sleeping with the fishyies.

Well, that's a bit poo. How'd he get about?

Lore wise, most information about Greedo is found in the Tales from the Mos Eisley Cantina.

He wanted to fly the Manka Hunter, a single seater Corsair which could be added to the game as a small fighter (but which S&V don't really need, what with the Z95 and Scyk).

He was a crew member aboard the Nova Viper, which is of an unknown model.

Then he got shot.

The Nova Viper might be your best bet as it comes with named pilots.

I thought he had a headhunter or something but he dies so early I don't think they thought it was worth exploring his background.

His whole life is in print :o

A pine box.

He's just a poor boy from a poor family.

No ship.

Ooh, so another opportunity for FFG to design their own ship, that could be cool. They're 1 for 1 so far.

This talk of characters who die early on has reminded me we still don't have Obi Wan as a crew member. What's that about, eh? Wave VIII perhaps?

Greedo can fly anything passenger with PS 10 or above, as he always shoots first.

He's probably the most dishevelled character to have actual speaking lines in the original trilogy. Poor guy. You gotta feel for him, y'know?

Mostly, I'm impressed they didn't try to make him out to be Badass Ultra Bounty Hunter #14. Like all the rest. He was just some poor sap trying for his big break, to finally be able to call a ship his own, earn a living... and then his mark went and shot him. ;)

One of the better bits of lore from the EU, in my opinion, because it adds verisimilitude to the whole thing. Not everyone is always awesome, y'know?

Definitely. Personally I've always loved sympathetic villains, anti-villains and anti-heroes.

And Badass Normals like Boba Fett + Han Solo.(and Sgt Johnson from Halo, Any Imperial guard character from 40K - but especially Commissar's Gaunt and Ciaphas Cain - HERO OF THE IMPERIUM).

Do we know much about his life story, though? ;)

I'm willing to be corrected if his tale was even more hard-luck than Greedo's.

I dunno, you be the judge ;)

A coffin.

I mean, not all bounty hunters are rich enough to own a ship, heck, until I read the EU I wasn't aware he was a bounty hunter, but rather one of jabbas thugs that wanted to get ahead, even though jabba hadn't ordered him to do that.

In that sense, he's best represented by his crew card, as much a Liability for the people hiring him as the people he's hunting.

Greedo was like the try hard punk kid that got into the gang just because he would do whatever you asked. He had no real success and I'm pretty sure he never had a ship.

He trained the ANH wave of stormtroopers.

He gets to fire first, at a target 2 foot away. and misses.

Either that or he's using my infinity rolls. I can't roll a dice dice for #$%^ in that game.

Consider the amount of screen time (and lines spoken) by Greedo compared to IG-88. Then look at how IG88 has become a 2 ship meta in the game.

Greedo should be AWESOME!!!!
