Two weapon, linked, and autofire

By Kilcannon, in Star Wars: Force and Destiny RPG

Came up in a discussion. Can two weapon fighting, linked, autofire, or even blast have crits activated on each hit (damage) if enough advantages or triumphs are rolled?

Had a nemesis with linked hit once and got 8 advantages. He used two to activate linked. Then two for his saber to crit. Was wondering if linked damage could also be a crit with another two advantages to cause to seperate crits instead of just giving +10 to first crit?

Critical Injuries/Hits are activated per hit , not per attack, so yes you could double up (or triple up, etc, in the case of autofire & Linked rating of 3 or more) on Criticals in such an instance.

I respectfully disagree with awayputurwpn. Per page 149 of the beta:

" If an attack generates enough [Advantage] to trigger more than one Critical Injury, the character makes a single Critical Injury roll, adding +10 to the result for each additional time the critical rating is triggered. "

Even with linked, two-weapon fighting, and auto-fire it's still one attack, and thus only one crit roll. Otherwise you'd be double dipping, gaining not only the +10 to the next roll, but adding an additional critical injury to boot! It seems unfairly punitive, in my opinion because crits affect players loads more than NPCs.

Gonna side with Wpn on this one. It is per hit. The limitations on spending Adv/Tri to activate the effects will keep this from getting out of hand on most occasions. You can only roll so many Triumphs at a time....

Multiple Critical Rolls with Autofire

Asked by 2P51 :

Can you roll multiple critical hits with a single attack, if the attack lands multiple hits, ie, you get 3 hits on an auto fire attack and theoretically have enough advantages for 3 critical hit results.

Criticals are generated on a "per hit" basis. So if you've got multiple hits, you can have multiple crits, just one per hit.
