Is this a Legal move?

Offender.

Whisper

- PTL

- FCS

- Advance Cloaking Device

- Tactician

Situation

Attack Phase.

Whisper shoots IG-88C, range 1, hits for 3 damage, gains a Focus & stealth then he "push the limits" with a barrel roll to move out of arc of IG-88 C which saved him from his own destruction.

I was the referee of the game I made the call that

A: Whisper gains a focus and stealth due to its abilities and is able to push the limits.

B: his stress that he gains for PTL doesn't effect his stealth due to it happening after a stealth action.

Am I correct or was I wrong ?

Yes, it's legal if they didn't previously barrel roll or use Push the Limit in the activation phase. While Whisper's card text says to "assign a focus token", so no action is taken, Advanced Cloaking Device states the ship may "perform a free cloak action." So, an action has been taken, satisfying the trigger for PTL. So it goes

Advanced Cloaking Device allows a Cloak action > Push the Limit > Barrel Roll > gain stress from PTL

Since Whisper's text isn't an action it doesn't matter whether the token is gained before or after any of the above, a stress doesn't stop the assigning of a token.

how can he push the limits after his attack? .... or did I miss understand something

Turr Phennir, Jake Farrell and Ysanne Isard, all have a similar interaction with PTIL (or Experimental Interface).

ACD allows the Phantom to take a Cloack action after attacking. PTL can trigger whenever you take an action (but only once per round).

I do this with the rear admiral, experimental interface, expose, and ysanne to triple action in a turn.
