Part of the reason they sold out was that the people playing in the x-wing tournament were able to get a ticket before people waiting in line. That is a huge chuck of ships.

This is why I love going to conventions. Paid $1,000 to get to Comic-Con, sold con exclusives and early releases for over $2,500 on Ebay after the fees.

Be a seller for just one year and you will never again be surprised by how much people are willing to pay for all manner of junk (Someone bought a Sharknado 2 foam toy from me that they handed out last year for free for over $25, for instance!)

I would argue yes, the raider is a huge game changer to epic play. the Empire finally has something bigger than the Decimator to field as a capital ship. FFG would be wise to pick up on that. (The question for scum though, what ship? Another corvette? (Although I would love to see an epic scum ship though)).

Don't quote me on this, but last year, for the pre-release of wave 5, I think they had separate allotments of the stuff for each day of the con. So there may be more available tomorrow.

Oh well, could be worse. You could live in Australia and not even have a chance to get to Gencon to have a chance at getting a Raider.

Have wanted an Imperial huge ship since the Rebels got one, and have been looking forward to the Raider since the first glimpse of a preview all those months ago. Don't think an extra few weeks will kill me.

(Though I'll be pretty annoyed if something else kills me in the meantime, just before I could finally have a truly epic game of Epic X-Wing.)

How many people will leave the Raider to get dusty on a shelf, or use it once just to try it out, or even do what I will do and sell it on ebay without the small ship bits? I really don't think that the Raider selling out at Gen Con lends any support to Epic being a popular format.

Considering the cost to fly out there, get a hotel, car and pay for tickets, they may have made out in the deal. Especially so if they don't care to experience anything else in GenCon and if the full release takes months to arrive.

I think it is a bit of both. I know for one I didn't play much epic because the Imperials didn't have a corresponding big ship to go against the Transport or the CR-90. Now with the Raider, it makes it much more compelling for me as mainly an Imperial player to want to play Epic. Plus having the Tie X1 title and new pilots is just bonus gravey. So for me it is a mixture of both.

I don't play Epic. But I want the Epic ships. Great models to display.

How much are they charging for the Raider at GenCon?
