New info from Gencon:

By Rogue Dakotan, in Star Wars: Imperial Assault

Dengar: 7 threat cost! Holy smokes this villian is cheaper than regular royal guards! He has a +2 built in accuracy and only 1 other surge. His contempt ability looks like it gives him a bonus surge if the target has no negative conditions. Judging by this ability and the fact that he only has 1 surge option and built in accuracy, I'm betting Dengar rolls 2 red for attack. He seems to have some sort of theme with negative conditions. Though it looks like he can't really apply them on his own.

17 deployement cards is interesting...

Looks like contempt adds a surge if attacking a target with no harmful conditions while punishment lets him inflict a harmful condition of his choice as a surge (and can be used multiple times), RY seems more likely to me in light of punishment. Given how much of an utter nuisance this could be I imagine he'll be relatively squishy.

Deployment cards include skirmish add ons (temporary alliance etc) so there will be two of those (Leia will only have one surely).

Edit: Interesting that Rule 63 Star Lord is a "cunning operative" and yet has 12 health putting her as a plausible "manly" hero.

You missed the little symbol next to Leia's name on her card. That symbol means the card is used for Campaign, meaning that there is another card for Skirmish. R2-D2 has the same thing going on for him which can be seen in his preview posted earlier.

I did miss that, but it's entirely possible that the skirmish card will only come with her figure pack (same applies to R2, we'll know when twin shadows comes out).

I'd love to see more upgrade cards ...

Check the news guys, we can see the cards better now and ones not visible before.

This better not be all we'll see of IA at Gencon. I'll be pretty dissapointed if it is.

I think it could be cool if they start to save up announcements for big events like this.
Yeah, you think that until they reduce the amount of communication to "save up announcements" and then the community goes up in flames because of how long they go without information. There's only so much information so what you're asking for will directly lead to less frequent communication with us.
You think I didn't realise that? You must think I'm pretty stupid. That's what I would prefer - fewer, consequently more special, announcements (ideally nearer the date of release too).

I was trying to give you the benefit of the doubt, but... Yeah, that's a pretty idiotic request.

Ah well, when you put it like that you clearly have a strong argument...

Personally, I am slightly annoyed at the number of announcements, and the lack of Twin Shadows boxes in my hand. I would prefer that they RELEASE content, rather than just talk about it.

As much as I'm excited for Twin Shadows and Return to Hoth - I'm more than happy to keep playing and exploring the game as it is. There's so many options and variety as it is.

But I feel that Boba and the droids are really going to shake things up.

What are you guys thoughts on the new Threat missions?

I think its an awesome idea. I like that it's adding a different element to the campaign and thus making that campaign feel unique by introducing new game mechanics. Plus being an imperial player most of the time, I like the idea of the Heroes starting with less strain! At first glance, it seems to make the game harder for the heroes but I imagine it will all balance out well in the campaign. There was a recent interview with one of the designers and he was really excited at how well they are balancing future missions and thinks they are really bringing a lot of unique missions to the table in the future. So yeah, I like the idea of new campaigns having different things going on to support variety and keeping it interesting.

Yeah, I also think the Threat missions sound quite cool. It's like, OK, you want to go off hunting for your Lightsabre or whatever? OK, that's cool, but you know you're all pretty worn out, could do with a rest... sure you wouldn't like to do this other mission instead...?

It's another layer of meaningful choices, about which I am all in favour.

The Threat Missions already starting in play sounds rough on the Rebels.

Am I misunderstanding how they work?

Don't you start with one in play, or are they in the Side Mission deck and only activate when drawn?

That's how I understand them to work. Sound a lot like Agenda missions but you get the reward up front until the Rebels beat the mission. As opposed to only getting the reward after you win the mission or the Rebels decide not to bother with it.
