Advanced Homing Missiles is going to destroy Fat Hans!!! I couldn´t be more happy, I am tired of going to a tournament and be almost the only one that doesn´t use big turrets.

Now, Rhymer will be veeery happy :D

You mean 8 AHM will do that. Because, yes, it's nice to annoy Han by taking out a Hull point (or two) ASAP, but that still leaves quite a bit to chew on.

No, you don't need to do all the damage with AHM, you just need to get a debilitating crit or two in and he becomes as easy to damage as a B-wing.

I know that when playing my decimator, if the enemy manages to land a couple crits with the attack that drops my shields I am going to have a very bad game. This will be like that, but sooner.

Very Intriguing possibility of using these on Rexlar Brath for casual games, getting lucky and dealing one of those crits that you resolve and flip immediately would be really fun to then flip again (Thrust Control Fire, and Minor Explosion being the two off the top of my head)

Eh...like the mechanic a lot, just...

I dunno, "homing missile" doesn't say "bypassing shields" to me.

Should have been named 'mag pulse missile' or 'neutron missile' or something other than using a word that already has a meaning in the game.

Completely agree. There's nothing about an Advanced Homing Missile that should allow it to pass through shields in the lore. They should have come up with a more unique missile name.

You know what it is? It's the component-targeting mechanic from TIE Fighter.

True. But that's really only something that worked on capital ships. At least, as far as ignoring shields goes.

Maneuvering Fins + Navigator seems fun.

The range 2 restriction I feel severely handicaps the adv homing missiles. The things you want to hit with it most *Cough Corran cough* have more then enough arc dodging capabilities to stay out of range 2, especially the Engine variants. Still excited to see it in play though, and I hope it proves effective, as well as the rest of the new stuff!

In my dream world, all of this will wreck the meta completely, and the meta will continue to diversify. We already took a step from just Fat Han and Phantoms dominating, into a thicker meta of Decis, Soontir, Brobots, YTs, and Corran (and Jake seems to be making a push too), along with some notable meta side runners of BTL Y-wings, Panic attack, 4BZ, IG-Boba, and a little dash of swarms as well. May the next wave continue to diversify... > :)

Area denial across a range band is powerful. And here there's the bonus that if you hit your target, it's going to at least inconvenience your opponent.

This is the real strength against ships like Corran, Echo, and Soontir. Maybe they would have dodged the shot anyway, but they definitely don't want to take the chance.

Vader with Crack Shot, AdvHoming, Engine and ATC. 38 points of "Nevermind I won't fly Corran today."

Low-PS area denial is effective. High-PS area denial is meta-breaking.

So is Maneuvering Fins.

I'm having a hard time imagining too many situations where one would want to turn a turn into a bank on an 180 degrees firing arc ship.

Really?

How about if a low PS ship tries to block you and switching helps you execute your maneuver.

Or if a ship you are trying to keep in arc ducked when you thought it would dive and the bank allows you to keep it in arc?

The slowest turn on the dial is the 2 speed and it's red. That's going to be rough. If you pick the 2-turn as a just in case you need it you can switch back to the bank when you know where some enemies will wind up.

Honestly I think it's a fantastic upgrade, especially for 1 point! There's also no negative of becoming stressed to switch maneuvers.

The increased frequency of crit abilities (more Vader, mangler, RAC) has not been enough to deter Soontir from the meta and he often has no protection against them outside of his dice/tokens. So, while I realize a faceup damage is a bit more risky for Corran Horn than Fel, I don't think it's going to be doomsday. Maybe it will cause people to rethink how they build him a bit if the card really starts to be seen a lot, but I don't think it's meta breaking.

I don't think that AHMs are going to be a common enough sight on the table that it will make people stop flying Corran. There aren't many pilots that will have an easy time getting an in arc shot at Corran at range 2, especially if he's using VI. For everyone other than Blount it will be a crap shoot on whether they even land a hit on Corran. Between needing to get the shot, needing to make the shot, and needing to pull the right crits, AHM is a really spotty counter for Corran.

I don't really think the game needs a 100% counter for any particular pilot. Any counter should take some work to pull off.

Ahh, the memories of Blount being the downfall of Stealth Device...

Ion Projector (2)

Large Ship Only. Modification

After an enemy ship

executes a maneuver that

causes it to overlap your

ship, roll 1 attack die. On

a [hit] or [crit] result, the

...ken.

After comparing the GenCon pic with the FFG release pic, I believe the last line is "On a [hit] or [crit] result, the enemy ship receives 1 ion token."
