Nothing happens. Overload Pulse only exhausts unused tokens.

1, nothing happens.

Rules reference guide, page 6.

Exhausted

Cards and defense tokens can be exhausted. Exhausted

cards and defense tokens cannot be exhausted again.

• To exhaust an upgrade card, rotate it 90° clockwise.

• To exhaust a defense token, flip it from its readied side

to its exhausted side.

• When a card or defense token is readied, it is no longer

exhausted.

Thanks

A further question on overload pulse - if the effect is successful and I am attacking a ship, does the ship have a chance to use those defence tokens before they become exhausted? Or do they become exhausted, following which my opponent has a choice to use and them lose them?

I am hoping the latter! Just checking to save rules arguments down the line.

Gotcha - so the 'critical effect' of overload pulse happens in the damage step, after tokens are used. Still probably useful, to combine with Demolisher and/or Rhymer's boys in the same turn.
