Scenario Themed List

By Nicorex, in X-Wing Squad Lists

I am planning on running a few themed scenario's in an over all story arc, leading up to a friendly tourney.

One of the scenario's has three teams of players (Reb's, Imp's and S&V) trying to stop a convoy of light freighters.

Each team will get 150 points and they can not use any named/unique pilots or upgrade cards.

The convoy is supposed to be a hard as nails (since I do not want the players to win on turn two {but I do want them to win})but not super killy.

I have set different restrictions on the convoy ships, such as no two ships may fire at the same target if there is another target in range. Convoy ships must attempt to move towards their exit edge every round, they can not go faster than speed three because of their delicate cargo and so on. Also the convoy ships job is not to destroy other ships but to get the convoy across the table.

Here is the list I have come up with to do that. I am giving the Convoy 200 points.

3x Outer Rim Smuggler Yt-1300, gunner, anti pursuit lasers.

Dash Rendar, outrider, engine upgrade, expert handling, ion cannon, ion pulse missiles, navigator

Keyan Farlander, Bwing/e2 mod, PTL, Ion cannon, advanced sensors, Kyle Katarn

Okay so the basic idea is this the 3 1300's move as fast as possible while the two Convoy Escorts slide around, ioning everything they can to keep them from stopping the convoy.

For the players to stop a freighter they just need to get it to half or less hull. We will be flying down a 9" table with all three factions nipping at my heals.

Do you think I made the list to hard? I want the players to win but I do not want to hand it to them in a silver platter. Plus the bigger the battle the better right?

Well sorry for the wall of text. If you have any idea's please share them. I really want the players (and me) to have a good time.

You'll have 450 points of enemy gunning for your 200 points of which basically half is trying to run away as fast as possible.

Of course, the teams will attack each other as well so you'll have some respite.

I do feel you're cheating a bit by restricting them in what they can field but taking good, named pilots yourself.

How about:

Outer Rim Smuggler (27)
Gunner (5)
Navigator (3)
Outer Rim Smuggler (27)
Gunner (5)
Mercenary Copilot (2)
Outer Rim Smuggler (27)
Gunner (5)
Mercenary Copilot (2)
Gold Squadron Pilot (18)
Ion Cannon Turret (5)
R2 Astromech (1)
Gold Squadron Pilot (18)
Ion Cannon Turret (5)
R2 Astromech (1)
Bandit Squadron Pilot (12)
Bandit Squadron Pilot (12)
Bandit Squadron Pilot (12)
Tala Squadron Pilot (13)
Total: 200

Thanks for your input. I do not think I can fly that many boats at once though (at least not well or in a timely manner).

Yes I am using Elite pilots, because the Players are supposed to be trying to jump an Elite Shipping Company.

Hopefully these 5 boats will be facing off against 15-18 other ships.

I get that it is a hard list to tackle but it is supposed to be.

I came up with this alt list.

2 x Outer rim Smugglers, anti pursuit lasers, gunner

Outer rim Smuggler, gunner

3 x Gray squad Y-Wing, engine upgrade, Ion cannon, bomb loadout, R2, proximity mines.

This make my basic strategy to just shoot straight forward, ion everything I can and them drop the mines, once I get past the mass of opposition and try to get to the other board edge.
